And you have never had a mechanical failure on one of these cars, BTW, how many times on a ODBII car does it take to turn on the SES on misfire due to lean conditions light when there is a problem?

Is a 928 a ODBII car?

OBD-II wasn't mandated until 1996.

I may have been rolling the dice, but I didn't grenade my engine. At the time of purchase and install, there wasn't too much chatter about the need for gauges and tuning.

All I kept hearing was how the engine needed to be in good shape. That's why I replaced every single electronic sensor, every rubber seal/hose/o-ring, water pump, tensioner, plugs, wires, coils, rotors, caps, etc.

Between the prep and post install work, the initail SC expendeture pretty much doubled. I know you have to pay to play, but I have to pray to stay under the radar.

I've had my WBO2 for some time now and ordered the gauges through Amazon with Prime 2 day shipping. When/if the supplier is really Amazon and the product is in stock, I typically receive it next day.

Yes, a WBo2 would have shown an extreme lean condition with a failed injector....

Prior to WBo2 all OEM's would tune using EGT's (actuall is probably still used) to find peak temps... then reading these results, know where peak cylinder pressures are... how to adjust timing and fuel to suit... (as is and has been forever used in combustion cycle aircraft... all part of LOP or ROP operation)...
OEM's would then adjust a margin into the tune... ie purposefully disconect or fail sensors to see that warranties can be limited when components fail... as they inevitably do.... (without expecting a customer to moniter an impending failure)

OP if you have a sharktuner permanently installed, then all the wiring should exist to 'plug and play' the innovate WBo2...

Yes, one big variable is the MAF calibration. Unless you require a freshly calibrated MAF as part of the SC install, there is going to be a lot of variation in the way the fuel mapping works just from MAF aging.

Anyway, Kurt, have fun with the install. I've had Innovate and TechEdge. Both have worked fine. I even left my TechEdge installed after selling my supercharger. Although the mixture is essentially rock stable with stock ECUs and stock motor now (excepting X-pipe), the wideband has come in handy a few times when the car did some freaky things at some throttle openings and I could see that is was going full-lean when it shouldn't. Fixed the throttle switch. Would have been hard to track down the issue w/o the wideband.

The MAF in my car was a little over 3 full points off compared to a fresh rebuilt one. (WOT map)
That in itself is enough to cause damage under boost.

I though these guages looked the best, but couldn't find a matching A/F. I looked for at least an hour before pulling the trigger.

I forgot to mention I had the MAF rebuilt as part of the prep (well actually after SITM last year)... should be good there.

In my usual fashion, I'll post lots of picures of the install process.

When you have 7 other cylinders running right, one running lean will have little effect on the total volume. Maybe the S4s do but the early 32Vs don't have EGT probes. You would also have to look at these gauges all the time. How realistic is that? Keeping a healty safety margin is the only practical way to go, anything less is a gamble.

What are the other goodies? Looks like a temp sensors in the bundle. Where are you installing that?

That is a MegaSquirt wiring harness with 36-1 toothed ring for EDIS-8.
