Understood. Did you say what seat/s you will install? I was planning on these as they are cheap and pretty light @ 18 lbs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330937287810...84.m1423.l2648

I'm installing Corbeau Forzas, albeit an older model. Very similar to that Sparco. Crazy light; easily lifted with one hand. They're even blue! These may be temporary as I think I'd like a reclinable race seat, like a Recaro SRD. Corbeau makes a few, and these double locking sliders were not cheap!
An older look is kind of what i am afterfor my project . I need blue also.
I'm not too far from you I could drive the RS down to get em.

Unfortunately despite little use they're not in great condition. They kicked around my brother's shop for several years after our racing Saab project fizzled. One of the side bolsters has a little tear in it and they both have some small stains. Like I said, temporary. Yours for a song (sans sliders!).

Would make the RS interior uniquely Porsche 928.
I'll pm you for price.

Mike you don't have to forward pics of the seats i will see you at the Glenn. My 928 will be road worthy easy by then.
Hoping my High School Buddy Shane (Driving Instructor, races a 3 Series) will play hookie with me and come see the Kraken's seats in person.

9/17 Update - installed Devek bar and Corbeau seats. Bar went in really easily, but I think I'd like to add some padding to it. The most shocking thing was how easy it was to drill through the body for the mounting bolts. The bar itself is a very nice piece; very solid. I wanted to paint it before putting it in, but I (wisely) figured that I should go ahead and get it in, then remove it to paint it since it was likely to get even more scratched during the first install.
Seats were also a breeze to install. The Corbeau double locking sliders bolted right on, and since they're Porsche-specific, they bolted right in. They sit LOW! Way lower than stock 928 seats. That will take some getting used to.
Tried to finish up by installing G-Force harnesses. What an amazing lack of instructions for such a critical safety component!!! There was next to nothing as a guide for where to bolt the anchors to the floor. Even more amazing was the lack of consistent information online. Still searching... And I had to go buy about $50 worth of nuts and bolts to properly install them. Crazy.

Bar is five pieces. The main bar, two rear shock tower mounts/extensions and two sleeves that connect those to the main bar.
The rear part of the bar connects to the shock towers; very solid and the angles are perfect. Plus the connection points leave open the top of the bar so if you need to you can adjust the shocks without removing the roll bar! Very nice attention to detail there.
The bar then bolts to the floor just behind the seats (see pic no. 2). You have to drill through the floor and then put the three bolts in each side, plus a backing plate. Once the holes are drilled, this thing could go in and out within 30 minutes. Definitely easiest with the seats out, though.
Hoping to tackle the harnesses tonight.

Mike, the seats look fine. I'll be there. No not race ready as i want to just pamper this car for a while. Really looks beautiful. I could hardly fall asleep last night. really.
Logistics:
I will bring 1 manual 928 seat and all seat bolts..would it be possible to make the seat exchange after racing on Wednesday?
You can have a perfect manual 928 seat in exchange to hold you over til you buy new (no tears at all, not worn and blue: 35 lbs though)
Without the sliders will i have to fab something or will they still bolt up in a fixed position? I could order what would be needed for them to bolt up also, there is time. Please advise.

Without sliders there's nothing to connect the seat to the car. The Corbeaus have four bolt holes (8mm x 1.25 thread) in the bottom of them. The seat rails in the car (NOTE THE EDIT!) have 6 bolt holes (2 front, 4 rear), and those are much further apart than the four holes on the Corbeaus. Plus you can't access the rear bolts from below anyway!
Bottom line is you'll need some sliders/brackets. I ordered mine from Corbeau through a local retailer (Corbeau doesn't sell direct), but only because I wanted double-locking sliders for racing purposes. Safety first.
That said you can probably find some on fleaBay/Craigslist, etc. Pretty much any Corbeau Porsche seat mount will work. Porsche used the same seat bolt pattern in almost all of its cars as far as I know. Corbeau lists the same part number for these sliders for tons of Porsches, too.

Mike, if you go through with this trade, why don't you just sell him the sliders for what you paid for them? You won't need them for the stock seat to get home, and if you buy more Corbeaus in the future you can buy more sliders at that time.

Not the worst suggestion I've ever heard. They're more expensive than the seats though!
