Rob Edwards: Awesome RL928 Asset

I absolutely couldn't function without Rob. I loose pictures, information, etc. I can't remember where I last sat my *** down. He's got everything all filed away, in a form that he can remember where everything is.
Also has "great vision", which is the ability to see the "whole "picture. I'm good, but he is great. I was in the middle of thrashing with the "pump" project. I had just spend half a day welding on the pan and put it back on the engine. Rob walks in, walks right up to the engine, and says..."Isn't that fitting going to be in the way of the A/C belt?"
Yes, as a matter of fact, it was! Thank you, so much, for pointing that out. I think I want to remove the pan, again.
He's a "worldclass guy".

I read every Rob post at least twice due to content.
You 928 guys and gals on the west coast have extreme skills.
Mechanical. Chemical. Project management. Communication. Business.
Damn.

Rob is certainly one of a dozen or so folks on this list that REALLY help make it a great community, and their knowledge of and information about our favorite cars is a true blessing to us as well. I'd list the names, but if you are reading this, you already know them - and my old brain would probably forget one or two and I don't want to overlook any of our great contributors.
SO - in addition to a big THANKS to Rob, I'll also say the same to you all who make this such a great automotive enthusiast community.

Yep, you can add me to the list of ones he's helped.
I'm finishing up a suspension overhaul on my car, Rob
let me use his old Koni's as cores to send in, in place
of mine that hadn't been removed yet so it would save
about a month and a half lead time while they where
getting rebuilt & re-valved, that really eliminated a lot of
down time on the project.
While I was over at his place picking up the stuff he said
Hey why don't you use my new Spring compressor tool, check
this thing out > Yea you can bet that made the job safer and
faster !
And last November he let me borrow his computer & diagnostic
tool so I could solve a ISV problem I was having.
Thanks Again Rob !

Yep, Rob is a helluva guy, a real asset to the community. At the risk of short-changing the many great folks I know throughout the 928 community, he's one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Here he is at his first visit to SITP:
Playing straight-man during Greg Brown's G28 teardown presentation at SFest '10 -- showing us how easy it it to loosen the nut that holds the reverse gear:
Waving as he leads the SFest '10 fun run:

Rob is a first class guy. He has loaned me stuff halfway across the country. I even found he helped work on my car with the PO. It is going to have to make a stop by his house one of these days. It is only 1900 miles.

Thanks for that, Brendan, for me it's a never-ending learning process with a long way to go but the encouragement is appreciated.
I'd like to see if I can re-try that last shot this year, hopefully with a tighter formation. Depends on which way the fundrive goes.
