Default Rob Edwards: Awesome RL928 Asset

Just some Friday afternoon warm and fuzzies. While reading over the GB oiling problem solved thread I got to thinking about how much Rob Edwards quietly contributes to this forum: Always quick to lend a tool. An awesome reference for P/N, pictures, threads, how to's, etc. Always pleasant and encouraging; a mensch in person as well as behind the keyboard. Meticulous and measured with his language and his work on 928's.

He has lent me tools. He has had me over to his house when I first got into this hobby. He has offered quiet encouragement and support; both publicly and privately. When I showed up to Sharktoberfest on Sunday in the rain, he gave me a ride in his awesome GB stroker as I didn't have a 928 on the road to join in the fun ride. He is an integral part of why I enjoy this 928 hobby so much.

Thanks Rob. You are the man!

I had the pleasure of meeting Rob for the first time at SITP.
I couldn't have said it better.

A well-rounded intelligent guy who has more schooling than many of us combined. You should hear him on the phone when he gets calls about "work" - I love that complex stuff.

Calm, focused, and open minded. Affable and personable - traits I find to be few and far between these days.

He is, as Bill says, a First class Nut. I mean Car nut.

He makes me wish I stayed in past my masters and went into teaching.

Aw shucks, Michael...

My introduction to 928 good people was getting in way too deep on a MM/OPG job and Dr. Bob driving 100 miles round trip twice in 2 days to help me out. Been trying to pay it forward since. I came here for the cars, but I'm staying for the community.

Besides, none of these cars are ever 100%, it's like built-in hobby security- we're all going to continue to need each other as all these cars age.

As far as all the tool loaning goes, that's mostly so when the SheFO says, 'how often do you use THAT tool?', I can usually say, 'Just the other week'- don't need to add that it was used by someone in San Diego, or Iowa, or .....

We have been really remiss in having SoCal GTG's, need to fix that- y'all are welcome in my garage anytime.

Thats true. Back in the early part 2002, 2003, there was an active group of "drivers" and we used to get together and drive the "long way" around LA.
