Default What company best at building Stroker engines from scratch?

Can anybody tell me what engine building company is best at building from scratch a 6.5-7 liter 928 engine for street use, looking toward reaching 500HP at minimum? Any cost ideas out there for a project like this?

Ditto. Greg Brown at Precision Motorworks in Anaheim. (714) 879-9072. $20K? More? And I think there is usually a line.

Whatever happened to Devek? Back in the day their stroker kit was 'relatively' popular, no?

Hey, Thanks for the info on building a Stroker motor, so greg brown is the guy! thanks for his Tel# Karl, no i'm not rich, but if i can do it in the future, I will. Why buy a Ferrari F428, or Porsche GT2 RS for $200,000-$280,000, when even if the motor costs $20K put in a 928, so for $40,000-$50,000 total or so have the ultimate 928, and have equivalent performance to the above cars, good reasoning? Granted the 928 would not be a new car but it would run nice(I think). Even a used Aston Martin Vanquish w/520HP still costs $90K for a 2005. DB9-450HP-$65,000(2005) What would you guys do? Bill

Dan: How does your Supercharged 91GT run? What would it cost for the kit plus paying somebody to do the installation for an 89 or later 5spd S4? How many miles have you put on it with the S/C, and how is the driveability for everyday driving? Any comments appreciated,Bill

If you want the rumpity rump HP then maybe a 928 is not the way to go.

I understand now that it is the drive and the thrill, yes the power is addictive but its not a stop light to stop light car.

Its the try and follow me up this winding mountain road thrill. IMHO

No, I do not build and have not built "stroker" 928 engines. If asked, I would refer anyone to Greg Brown.

As a FYI... As much as I love engine building, I am not seeking any further 928 cam work / engine builds as I no longer feel that I can be an effective resource to 928 owners.

Regards

Yes, the 928 is not a drag car, any big crate motor in an american car will do the drag stoplight thing, but having 500HP in a 928 road car would be a thrill with the great road handling for the curves in the Hwy or mountain road, as you mentioned.
