Started refreshing the front suspension on my GTS, all the rubber has gotten arthritic. Front shock upper mounts: 110,000 miles, 31 years, collapsed 6.8 mm vs. new:

Heading to the welders Monday. RMB is too much with the X-pipe on the 85....sounds like a Pterodactyl...way too loud.

After many hours I finally got her running (and moving) after eight years of sitting! This car is a bit of a wool sweater, where you pull a thread and more and more comes apart but it's worth it. I started off with a clutch pedal on the floor, so I got a new master cylinder (quite a bit of old fluid in the footwell), which turned into replacing the brake master whilst I was in there, and the clutch slave, and then the clutch flex line. Then she started pouring gas from the brittle line between the fuel pumps, which then turned into a leak from the internal fuel pump (which was luckily in fantastic sort outside of its seal). All worth it for the first drive though, and the first time I've ever driven a 928. Though after the first start I'm seeing leaks from coolant hoses, power steering hoses, the whole gamut. Between all this and the impending water pump / timing belt job, it's an uphill battle until I can go for proper drives, but it's proving to be a fun project.

Made a 3mm hex-screwdriver to the mixturesetup on the Cis-system. Just love the tig-welder, great for small welds. But almost sacreligous to destroy an old swedish Bacho-screwdriver in the process..

Got my y pipe fitted
I got a Y pipe fitted between a set of MSDS headers and a Borla stainless exhaust on a fresh rebuild. And I had to take a white-knuckle ride drive to my guy after only getting it semi-running yesterday.
With “Hobbyist” plates in Wisconsin, I never have to get an emissions test again.

A question..; Behind the "Y" piece and backwards, what dimension on the borla-system are you using? It looks a bit restrictive to me, but I couldn't say for sure without measurements...
