I think Dwayne has enough of his own already.

I wish all big 928's areas could do something like this. You guys have that one in CA, we could put one here in TX, FL could have one and then mid way up the east coast (say NC/VA area) and then up in the NE and maybe one in the mid-West... Man if the 928 Owners Club could sponsor in some small way something like that... WOW...so cool. I think it just about has to be an individual sponsoring something like this though to actually make it work well.

Such a cool idea. I mean there is always someone in the 928 world around you who had to give up their baby to get an old Honda Civic because of personal situations, and you just know if those folks only needed to pay for upkeep, gas and insurance they would still be in a 928! I'd put my good friend Elliott in one here in the Austin area and I have already put my friend Carl in my '81... So, I guess I am sort of doing the same thing... In my case the cars are SO NICE they are only allowed to highly **** retentive very close personal friends though.

Once Mark find a home for Leeroy, I'll pop for the first $50 worth of needed parts ordered from 928Intl. Wholesale prices, of course.

Mark, please send it to my wife so she can stop driving mine while I paint hers. She has discovered the correlation of more boost equals more fun and my heart can't handle the stress.

Default Check Is In The Mail-

Just mailed my check to 928Intl for the future care and feeding of Leeroy, once Mark finds a home for it. Anyone else want to get on board?

Charlie: Your suspicions are well founded!

Thanks for the generous offers above. I'm sure they will come in handy.
The Leeroy board convened to discuss the selection of the next caretaker(s). Some of the things that have been considered includes sending Leeroy to an individual or an area of the U.S. where there is an active 928 community that would do two things, a) not only maintain Leeroy but genuinely improve his state (remember he is an old boy with some old boy issues). It would be good to repair, replace, enhance and even update some things in his behalf.... b) Leeroy is a community project. This means he should benefit from the community. This means even if a worthy individual becomes Leeroy's caretaker, it is expected that Leeroy be given the advantage of "communing" with others of his kind, meaning, that he gets to some of the local, and long distance (if possible) 928 events.

The goals of the Leeroy project are two fold, to provide 928 ownership to a deserving caretaker and to gradually improve/enhance the overall condition and performance of the car.

To make sure Leeroy can be loved by all, the board is prepared to cover the charges to have him shipped anywhere in the U.S., sorry Canadians, it would be impossible to have him re-imported to the U.S.

So, let the nominations begin..... Individual or region.... What about it NorCal, NW, Rocky Mountains, Upper Midwest, Texas-Gulf Coast, NE, SE? Let's get a new owner and keep the spirit of the Leeroy project alive.

Leeroy has a repainted Bumper cover in the front with new stripping.

Mark - I forgot the two cans of paint I got colormatched to the wonderful color of the car. So whereever it goes - those should go with.

Mark, Leeroy board,
This is a remarkable turn of events! Seems the board is taking this experiment to the next level.
I'll put some serious thought into who may be the right next person for Leeroy.

I really like the idea of Leeroy making appearances at events.
And once rock star status has been achieved, he will make special guest appearance at events - first billing.

Do we have a defined list of goals and upgrades that he needs?

I could see the NorCal 928 gang having GTG's and do hands on learning for wrenching parties.

If we want to put eibach springs for an OB, I have a set NIB.

I nominate Stan - Mr Merlin! For obvious reasons. Leeroy will be a better car after Stan's tenure with it. Plus, it would be somewhat centrally located in Denver, and I might have a shot at actually seeing it!
