Wow, unbelievable. The "smear" email from Dan was pretty nice and straight-forward. I would have said much worse after dealing with this crap.

Refund the man's money and move on...you aren't doing yourself or your business any favors in this thread.

Nope he wont do a full refund. My 3 options are:

BTW thats how i ended up with the 928ms ones that I have.
I bought them off of someone, both for $300.
They are both tight as they should be and as a mechanic I like the rebuildable option that I can deal with from now on.

I needed an alignment anyway which I am going to try and do by following the DIY video guide.

NAPA has policies in place to pay for labor on defective parts, at least here they used to.

I no longer buy any hard parts from NAPA as the quality is on par with AutoZone/PepBoys, etc these days.

I would not worry about something that takes a hour to install, but if it is a all day thing, you bet I have been paid for it.

There is no difference ... time is time no matter who expends it .... my time is just as valuable as a shops time and deserves the same consideration. You could only make that statement if you value your time at $0.00 ... I certainly don't. I have the same expectations both as a consumer and in the business I run ... and that's the way I treat my customers ... as I would like to treated myself.

I deal with Roger because of that very admirable attitude ... there is never a problem. Doing the right thing and going the extra yard results in my loyalty, repeat business and referral to others.

Store policy my a$$.... it was writen by the "company" to hide behind when the $hit hits the fan. And that 15% restocking fee is a downright insult.

Over the years I've seen enough threads on the antics of this company to, NOT TO, ever buy anything from them.

Carl, quit being a jerk and give the guy his money back. I have dealt with you twice. Both times there were issues with the parts you supplied and both times you tried to convince me that it wasn't your fault and that my car must be unique. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH YOU AGAIN, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Quit being a Mason ( 928 Worldwide ) and do the right thing before everyone see's how you do business. You are hiding behind your "policy". You are the owner, you set the policy. Why don't you do the right thing instead of making excuses. Man up Carl

Full refund is the only answer here...unfortunately that will require MORE WORK and MORE investment of money on new/rebuilt parts...sad and unfortunate all the way around.

Damn, I could copy and paste my response about all the Devek issues years ago...

What I said then, and will say again now, is that you are VERY lucky to have someone
out there making custom performance parts for your cars. It's not like he bought stock
control arms from Carl, and found them to be defective. He bought custom-made
experimental racing control arms. If every vendor had to have Porsche factory perfection
with their parts and service, you would be paying thousands of dollars more. The vendors
who make parts for these cars are people like you and me. Not some huge company
with a customer service department, etc. Most of these places are one or two people,
trying to make cool stuff for our cars. If you want cool, weird, custom parts to modify
your car, you are taking a certain risk. If you want safe, tested parts, buy from the
Porsche dealership only. I had some defective parts from Devek back in the day,
but I am still appreciative that they offered those parts. Because it gave me an
option over factory stock parts.

I'd be curious if Greg would be willing to completely rebuild a customer's
stroker engine, if something went wrong and it blew? Honestly, it's impossible
to test every part to the same level the factory does. Carl puts his parts on
his racecar and thrashes the hell out of them. That's about as good as you
can do as an individual selling race parts...
