I drilled out the rotten plates in the bottom of the connectors and then fixed copper spring connectors like you find in a normal bulb holder, works like a charm now, no more tail light out messages.

I don't know the details but think they are avialable from NAPA or something. Try a search.

This is the link I think Karl is refering to:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...grade-mod.html

I haven't tried it though.

I just soldered a wire to the bulb and cushioned with foam (to add spring and allow it to catch tightly) and now good to go.

tried the napa website and called the store and they have no listing.going to try and make some universal ones fit.the ones that have the push in prongs may work with a little fab work.

Smyth1, look right above your post-I was typing as you posted your NAPA defeat.

I've got some of the odessy ones here, they trim out to fit in our housings after a bit of work. They also come in pairs, so you have to rewire them individually, or modify the 928 housing to accept them both.

My S4 has had some of them replaced with something different than stock or what was shown in the post. Something generic, I think.

+928 They work. You have to cut them a little to make them fit but its not hard w/ a razor. You will also need to make some gaskets but these are great upgrades because they use the dual filament bulbs. You can wire them in a way that will brighten your tail lights vs the stock ones. It's been awhile since I've done it but once you look at them next to the old ones it will be obvious.

Quick Reply: tail light sockets.
