First time I've seen this thread. Amazingly impressed at how many smart, smart people out there drive 928s. Does the 928 appeal to intelligent people or do you have to be intelligent to keep your 928 on the road? Anyway, can't say enough about you ingenuity Volla (and glad to hear your tranny issue was an easy fix).

...maybe... depending how how much of QT you need. There is an active port of QT to Android [http://code.google.com/p/android-lighthouse/].

I'm also an Android user...

I actually opened a nice bottle of Red from Stellenbosch last night.

Ah that was Jezzer in the Atom test. Haven't seen it in a while. I like James May with the updated Atom and goggles.

Ok micro update:

The software is successfully communicating with the ECU, the gauges all indicate what they are suppose to indicate. Need to do final adjustments and testing and making sure the ECU saves the fuel map properly.

But unfortunately while driving home from the new years festival on sunday (Happy year of the Rabbit!!!) my shark just died on me. Completely and could not start it. The ECU was not getting the crank speed pulse from my EZK and there was no spark. After towing the shark back home in reverse for 10km (for some reason there wasnt a towing point in the front) I figured that the EZK is broken.

I opened up the EZK and measured all the power and inputs and outputs on the connector while cranking the engine. All the inputs are as perfect as it can be (power, ground, engine temp, HAL, CPS etc) but there are no outputs.

This unfortunately delays me yet again to completely finalise the LH replacement. Will see what I can do about just getting the EZK to give spark and finish off the LH before rebuilding the EZK. I should be able to finish the LH software without an actual car, the final tuning will just have to wait a bit.

If anyone out here can think of something I missed please let me know.

Will keep everyone updated.

been wondering how things were going. sounds like you have made progress, but still have to overcome the electrical gremlins of the 928. they can be fun especially when doing brain surgery. can't do that yet so i am cheering for your success. keep it up. thanks for your work....

Ok been a long time since i last posted. Have been very busy with lots of admin and couldnt spend too much time on finishing this off.

Mini update is that I have recoded the protocol between the pc and the unit, I had some limitations on sending and receiving the fuel map, but it is all good now.

I will upload video of the car working with the finalised unit as soon as my random car stalling problem is fixed (I cant dyno the car if i cant drive to the dyno)

I have created a separate thread for my other problems: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-of-shark.html

Please comment if you have information on my electronic woes!!!

Wow! I must say I am impressed. Most of my ECU experience has been in playing around with Microsquirt 1.0 on an old air cooled Yamaha. I got into some of its internals (swapped in a different VR signal conditioner to correct some encoder wheel issues), but I've not done more than peruse the code (also in C).

Although your whole project here is amazing, I am particularly impressed with the apparent ease with which you implemented the closed loop idle and EGO features. Both of those were pretty complicated for the MS2Extra guys - involving tunable PID loops to get the overshoot control correct.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how things look on the dyno.

Cheers,
Paul
