Automatic Shift **** Question
Thinking of modernizing from T-Handle shift **** to Mono P800222 (Automotion.com). Anyone have experience with Mono or a better idea? Jimmy, 81 Euro.

Get a hold of Roger or Paul C and get one of these.

I assume since you say you have a 'T' handle you have an automatic, that Momo is for a manual only - you need the button for the shift release. The only Momo that i found that works is this one - $109 on Amazon - search for 'Momo Automatic'.

Neil,
Sean knows what he is talking about and the shifter pictured was on an automatic. The reason if faked you out is because he is using one of the nice Paul Champagne shifter boots for the automatic cars! You wouldn't want to do that on an early car because there are not lights on the dash to indicate what gear you are in, but the later cars have the gear indicators in with the Tach.
Incidentally I have the same MOMO in my 928 Race car that you have...I like it pretty well actually too...

There is nothing fake about a comfortable shifter and a nicely tailored boot.
Actually, you could use a better fitting boot on your 5 speed
I only have a few of these left and if anyone is interested in my black Ostrich demo, I will let it go at the same price as the regular leather.
But remember that you can do some nice things with the factory "T" as well:
I'm not saying you should copy those designs, just pointing out that they can be updated.

My shifter boot is not stock........ it's "modified"! Made it myself (hand stiched and all), 10 years ago, for a whopping $1CDN.

Nothing fake?... You got to be kidding me. It makes the shifter look like a manual. The bottom two pics are very nice but the others are imitation 5-speeds.

I make both, so it makes no difference to me, but:
A shifter (and boot) transcends the mechanicals underneath. It's sole purpose is the communicate the intention of the driver to the transmission, whether it be through a clutch or otherwise as no bearing. It simply as to function, be comfortable in the hand and hopefully be crafted with care so that it will last.
The style, feel and look is a matter of taste. You don't like this style and that is fine. But that would be your opinion. Thankfully, a great many have a different one.
