Dont forget the Alfa 166 shifter option:

Still works perfect, and does not make it look like a manual wannabee

What's with the dickish comments?

Some of us don't like the crap plastic look and never thought it looked like a 'wanna b 5 speed'

I suppose ******** and opinions fit here.

Hey Jimmy, There is a great looking shifter handle, AND now I think I see a way we can incorporate the gauges you would like in a FLUSH Center Console conversion!!!

Regarding the MOMO auto shifters, I tried to find something that would show how to install them. I've installed a manual shifter on my previous (lesser) car, but I was curious how the Porsche T-handle (side button) is able to convert to this top-buttoned gear lock. When the T-handle is removed does it then reveal a simple post with a tip that engages with the new MOMO button? Does anyone have pics of the T-handle removed?

Thanks

When you remove the t-handle there is a plastic rod with a roller on top. I assume that the t handle button on the inside has a wedge shape that when it is depressed pushes the plastic rod down the shifter shaft and disconnects the lock.
So a shifter with a button on top works easily.

Hi Nicholas - This isn't a Momo shifter, but assume it's about the same (with a center actuator button). I did this about 10 years ago on my 84; sorry I don't have more pictures. It really is so easy, a caveman could do it. Personally, I do like shifters like this one that you can pull the center actuator button out when parking the car--an excellent theft deterrent. I think this is the same shifter Carl now sells on his website.

Got the silver Momo on the wife's '91 auto, it looks fantastic with the interior & she loves it. Sometimes the top button has to be rotated a bit with your finger to allow it to engage when pushed down, but no bit deal. Bought it at SITM a few years ago from Jeannie. Was actually what the wife asked for as an Anniversary gift, how can you beat that?? Man I'm Blessed!

As some of you know, the shifters I was stocking are no longer manufactured. But for those interested, Hans and I are setting up to make our own. We will produce that basic same shape for automatic, but with better bushings and closer tolerance. That will give the shifter a smoother action.

We also plan to produce the 5 speed rubber head that now difficult to find. The originals had a tendency to split. Ours wont. And if I let Hans loose at the design table for a while, we might even end up with a lighted button

Both should be available shortly, either directly through me, or through Roger.

The Momo **** is excellent and easy to fit. If you live in a hot climate I would give the metal finish ones a miss or they may burn the palm of your hand if the car has been in direct sunlight- no problem for my pal Brett in the UK- there's no bloody sun there! [I like the vertical take off kit Brett!- did it come from one of those Harriers the cretins in Westminster are scrapping?].

I use one of the Momo models with black leather/chrome trim- looks good & still feels like new after 8 years of use and you also get the placebo effect of feeling like you are using a pseudo manual when you drop it into third for a fast sweeper.

The original GTS tee piece fell to pieces. I seem to remember I needed to do something relatively minor to the thing when I first got it but cannot remember what is was. When I moved it to the GTS it was a two minute job to change it over. Despite having a navy blue interior trim and light grey seats it blends in surprisingly well.

Regards

Fred

Paul, I wanted to order one of those that you already had in stock but the newer version sounds like a beast, I might wait a bit longer
