Excellent and thoughtful balance of restoration and preservation...looking forward to seeing this one again!

Door are done. Man, there is a lot of stuff to do to square away the doors, inside and out.

Car is coming along great! I remember when you and I took this thing down the road when it barely ran. It's nice to see so much forward progress.

Had a fun time wrapping up the hatch area this evening.

The period-correct tool pouch and tire inflator are stowed behind the very unique rear tool panel in fibreglass with 1/4-turn screws, more to follow on that panel.

The fibreglass spare tire cover is crazy cool too! Wish Porsche continued to use this throughout production.

A lot of interesting details, for sure.

Edit: And you're right, it would have been nice if they stayed with that spare cover set-up. Those darn metal hold down clips are a bugger, if you snag a finger going in or out. Learned one thing, pull or squeeze the spare in/out with your hands at one and seven locations...two, four and nine are a finger cutter.

Brian.

Things are moving along nicely. Paint has awakened from a long slumber, thanks to #6assistant (he's killing it, I'm super impesssed!).

More to show really soon, just want to wrap things up before the glamour shots

In the meantime, anyone have a solution to remove calcium scale from glass? Best I found was flat-blade razors. Could use a better option.

Coming along nicely Jim...Google search: "Brush on some toothpaste. Many home cleaners use toothpaste as an alternative to baking soda. Apply some regular toothpaste to a moist towel and rub it over the stain using circular motions. Wait a few minutes, and then rinse off the paste with equal parts water and vinegar to remove all residue."

the toothpaste or baking soda approach works well when used with 0000 steel wool. Just make sure it's quality steel wool without any larger strands mixed in.

Griots sells a glass cleaner, with special pads. I have the small orbital and pads, and that works pretty good. Sort of like the toothpaste solution above.

If you are careful to protect the paint some CLR on a rag may work.
