Man, this car & its story is so cool! What a great thread!
Jim, keep up the good work & supply us with plenty of details & photos! I enjoy running out to my car & comparing what you've found on #6 to what a later car had. Neat neat stuff!

^^^ Thanks guys!
Intermediate exhaust repair using an existing one as a jig.
Had to add back in a front flange that was removed when cat converter was added.

Really odd CV halfshafts for a '78. Looks like a late model with the integrated spline shaft, but uses the smaller early '930' boots.
After press duty, #6 was used as a test vehicle at Weissach (Porsche engineering/development). Further proof seen right here.

Well it only took 3 years, but #6 now has a complete original exhaust... first time since it was EPA'd in Cali ca. 1992.
Turned out really nice! And the early 'Euro' exhaust with the premuffler sounds SO sweet, as Porsche intended.
Now back to wiring, now with a gameplan.
God bless Hans the CE panel assembler... I can't imagine doing his job, but I'm starting to get an idea. Poor guy!
And the girls playing mechanic. I didn't have the heart to tell them they're working on the wrong end.

All buttoned up!
Long story short...
- Relay IV & XVI we're interchanged (didn't match WSM/owner's manual)
- Defog was wired for a Porsche 'custom' relay (of the same p/n), and a special defog switch.
- Misc switched power & X power differences (most of which I kept the same)
- And several butt & split hackjobs just to keep things interesting.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Best news is most of the A-Z pinouts (bottom of CE panel) were the same as production, other the defog pins D2-D4.
That's the short version...
