Way to go Mike!

I know it's in the garage, but the exhaust tone is quite nice and seems like it will be about the right volume at higher rpm/loads. Will be interesting to hear how much the turbo actually softens the delivery, while adding it's on soprano chords.

Very impressive install time - any more pics of the final product?

Thanks guys. This is a long time coming for me. Been dreaming about it for years.

Here is a picture of the turbo and exaust tip/hanger peice. By the way, you do not want to put these two pieces together like I am showing here. It is easier if you mount the exahaust tip in the factory hanging points, and then mount the turbo to the exhaust flange, and then join the two with the V-band clamp. I found that out later.

I was scrapin' the bottom of the barrel for old shirts!!

I would like to add, that this system was honestly very easy to install (to me anyway). You are basically bolting on an exhaust system and a new intake "system". Both systems that fit together perfectly. The wiring was the most challenging part, and I am working on a specific wiring diagram, and harness modifications, that will hopefully make the next kit sold even eaiser to install. But even so, we are only talking about eight connection points for the wiring (pump, pressure switch, warning buzzer and power for the harness). I drilled 2 holes, that's it. The rest was a bolt on affair.

Now for emissions get another pipe and Y it in to the turbine outlet at a 26 deg angle. The fast moving exhaust gasses will draw in more air and dilute the PPM....

She sounds AWESOME! Once you get her tuned and dyno's I think your numbers will be higher than expected! I am thinking 23hp per lbs of boost!

I'll vote 24whp/psi with the 5psi setup - let's see, Mike said 280whp baseline iirc, so I'm estimating 400whp+ results

Default First Drive

OK. Finally got the car out yesterday for some initial tuning. I didn't get to take the car past 3300 rpm, but I didn't have to. This thing is a hoot already, even at half throttle. All I did yesterday was start tuning the cruise map. At highway speed, the boost is instant. Down shifting is now optional to pass. Cruising at 70, any throttle addition provides instant positive pressure. I went from 70 to 90 with a small stab of the throttle, not even close to opening the WOT switch. I didn't record any knocks the entire trip.

I went under a bridge by my house right after a red light. Of course, I made sure to raise the RPM a little to hear that lovely spool up. The sound this thing makes was worth every penny and then some. A recording does not do it justice.

The cool thing is, you can drive this thing around anywhere, and nobody would be the wiser as to what you are packing by driving "normal" (although the exhaust note down low before the turbo spools up is pretty robust). But I quickly adjusted my brain to hear this thing spool up every time I left a red light (which doesn't take very much). Just leave in 1st gear with any throttle position, hold each gear till about 2200 RPM, and smile ear to ear. It is just to intoxicating. More tuning tonight.

Awesome Mike!!

Curious, why <3300rpm, did the auto-tune not provide an adequate base?
Look forward to your final tweaking process and how much or little is actually required.

btw - you still have to provide a sound clip. Hang your camera out the window as you go under that bridge again.

Good stuff!
