Not any more.

Programming the LH/EZF require using basic hex coding = assembly language.

I'd like you to start a new hobby - programming MS units.

Ken,

I really don't know if I'd be able to hear pinging over my exhaust.

With this new setup, how would the owner set the variable potentiometer?

By the way, got 22 MPG last weekend on the 400 mile roundtrip to TX mile doing 75-80. Pretty happy with that.

Don - you'll have a multi-turn pot sticking out of the LH connector attached to two wires (like the 'octane loop' plugs). CW richens. I'm working on the install kit. I'll figure out a default setting for X-pipe/duals.

The best way to check the WOT AFR is to log a 1+ mile flat run in 3rd, or on the dyno. 2nd w/the auto will do, if you can find an uphill grade. Short, quick runs are not as meaningful as long ones...(ahem).

It appears the duals start to extract better after a few seconds to get warm, and establish a constant gasflow.

Awesome! So much easier than messing with a new chip for each change. A few minutes to install, a couple of logged runs on my 'closed course', and it was (literally) dialed in. Adjustment is 0~900 ohms, I needed 390 to go from 14ish to 12ish. (I'm going to set the default to 450.)

There's enough resolution that I could add at least 50% more range with a code change if this isn't enough. I divided the input by 4 for smoothing.

I'll add the option for the update, shortly. I'm working on the install manual.

What a long strange trip (man)... I started out making a little wired gizmo for the EZF (EZF'r), which led to chips, and now the whole process is 'finished' off with a little wired gizmo for the LH.

Ken,
that´s fantastic!I need one if the pile of parts (my engine ) is together again.Maybe I could so take the perfect afr for my 86.5 on the dyno?

Karsten - yawohl! Just remember that the readings at the exhaust tip are usually at least 0.5 AFR leaner than they would be at the X-pipe.

Brad - now that you mention it, if someone has a dyno run with AFR graph of a S2 so I could see what the stock fueling is at high rpm... I could add my CO+WOT and 'WOTPot' code to a (stock fuel pressure) 16V LH chip. I can't tune a 16V EZF chip remotely except maybe to add a couple degrees of overall timing, but I could make it more responsive with my code... hmmm.

Great work Ken as usual. Could this potentiometer work for us boosted guys to help dial in our AFR? Mine goes to WOT map at .5 psi via a pressure switch. Using this and my adjustable Begi FMU I am thinking I could get my AFR spot on.

Ted - Maybe? The WOTpot puts in a flat addition across the entire rpm range, as if you were raising the fuel pressure, but at full throttle only. You might be able to run 89 octane version w/the pot, if you can adjust the FMU to work with a 55 psi base pressure.

Testing is on hold though as my TPS decided to quit last night. So much fun to change a TPS without removing the intake.

^^^ I wondered if that was how it worked. If someone had an FMU that wasn't adjustable this would be a great tool to help dial in the AFR. Seeing that I go to open loop as soon as I transition to boost the Begi does the same thing as this does.

Now a boosted S3 with a S4 FPR could potentially use this instead of a FMU. It would allow it to run lower fuel pressures.

What told you the TPS failed?

Dude, trying to keep up with you is like trying to have the best smart phone available. STOP DEVELOPING!!! (I always feel like my car could be running even better every time you discover a 'holy grail')

Put me on the list for the WOTPOT. I don't care what it does, I just want to be able to say I put one in my car.
