The funny thing about that, it's amazing progress. How many crooks have run this state (or many of the states) without any prosecution? These are definitely not great days for IL, but the fact that there are orange jumpsuits involved shows we're actually doing something about it now.

I agree with everything you said except for the "we're" part.

Right now it seem it is because of 1 honest tough fed prosecutor, but the rest of Illinois votes for these losers over and over, just like much of the rest of the country.

To everyone who cares about what this country stands for I would say at a minimum vote for and donate to newcomers who are decent or organize drives for ballot measures or run for office.

Yes, we should start voting for the honest politicians!

Looks like the damage is going to be less than a grand, so I will be paying this one out of pocket.
Thanks for all the kind words and I know most of you would have done the same thing.

I have tried 3 times today to get good pics of the damage, but the door is so shiny that you can not see it in the pictures.

It just looks like some white spots on the door, but it has a couple of good dents in it, you just cant see them in the pictures.

Sue the old dude that hit you in small claims court. No need for you to have to eat the deductible or the $1k it will cost to repair.

ABSOLUTELY!! Why would you have to pay the deductible when he was caught and arrested?? I am assuming that he didn't have insurance (might have read that at the beginning, but can't remember), but shouldn't the insurance company go after him for the damage??

P.S. Great job by the way!! I would have done exactly the same thing for all the same reasons. I worked hard for my baby and to have some POS run into it and then just drive off...I don't think so!!

Fear of having the rates go up on all my cars, so unless I can get something in writing from Travelers I may be better off just paying for it.

It went up after I hit the Turkey, the bastages.

I fear I would be wasting my time to take him to court.

I understand this part, that is why I suggested you sue the old dude in small claims so you don't have to involve your insurance but still, perhaps, get some restitution for your loss.

a bit of as was kissed, how do you think we got our allies?

so a 'fight' over a door panel is the same as oppression by what was considered an occupying force, taxation without representation, freedom of speech/religion, etc.

err, ok

not the same, but maybe takes the same character arthur.

EDIT: Arthur, I don't want this to turn into a thing. Obviously we disagree. I don't think either of us are going to change each other's mind. Greg is one of my favorite people on this board and I am probably being more defensive because I like I like him so much.
We can keep going back and forth until one of us inevitably mentions Hitler or we can we just agree to disagree. I hope we can do the latter because I just don't feel like doing this.

OK, I'm up in the air now...seeing how nice the car is I might have been tempted to fire one 'over his bow'

just kidding, gun 'play' is not sport or funny...
