I will consider reasonable offers. Need to move this stuff.

Another vote for James being a great guy, I bought a couple of items from him and he treated me very fairly.

I hope all goes well with the 928ww inventory. Don't be like Mason and make sure you test your parts and clean them up and make them presentable. He tried to sell me junk on a couple of occasions and I got very frustrated with him. His motto was be the cheapest and just move the stuff out as is without any consideration as to if it was serviceable or not and warranty it later. We all know how that worked out for him!

All the best James, I will keep you in mind if I need anything.

If you have a business selling used parts and warranty them to be usable most people will pick out the very best one they have and send it out.......then the next order gets the next nicest or the one from the running driving car. Another order send the next best...That is pretty much common sense but ultimately you end up with a shop full of questionable or unknown parts , core exchanges ..... Stuff that often just gets thrown away. I can only hope that you did not pay much for these parts from Mason. But maybe his business plan was to save all the best parts for last

In theory that would be true but i wont sell junk. Thats the point of the warranty. Also, different cars come in and different parts go on the shelves frequently. Many of the parts in this business are non electrical or mechanical parts as well. Such as interior and exterior panels. Im not out just to make a buck. I am still a 928 owner too. I know what its like to buy used, new and rebuilt parts just like everyone else. I have been through it many times before. In fact I have parted 2 s4's just to put my GTS together the way I wanted it. My goal is to have NO unhappy customers. Jim, I dont really understand the point of your post but I have and will prove myself and my parts to be quality and worthwhile. I will also try to do it better than anyone else has. Thanks for your interest in 928partseast.

Maybe some sort of event would help kick start your business?

How long is your used parts warranty? My 1983 Auto US Spec makes a scraping/whirling noise somewhere in the area of the bell housing (under the the hump/shift lever console). It speeds up with engine RPM's. Does that sound like it might be a bad or loose flex plate? How should I check to determine the problem? Do you have one in stock if I need it? Thanks in advance.

Joe you most likely have bearing noise in the torque tube. That sound comes out of the tube into the bellhousing.....it acts like a Tuba !

Actually, I think that there are way too many people taking 928s apart and not enough people putting them back together.....

Once you get past a few desirable pieces, like limited slips, a few of the transmission models, there's way too much of the rest of the crap, for sale. It will be another 15 years or so, before every little piece is valuable and by then, most all of it will have been recycled or trashed. There will be no more "parts" cars...they will be long gone.

I think Jim Bailey has a very good point, here.

Anyone can look online and see what 928 International sells pieces for, but they forget that he throws more away than he saves...and his stuff comes off of pretty cherry "west coast" cars. Pieces coming off of rusty east coast cars is probably not going to be anywhere as nice....if usable at all. By the time the good stuff is "cherry picked" and you are down to the "left overs", it probably starts to be looking more and more like trash.

The warehouse is near Bensalem Pa. It is actually in a town called Andalusia. I also do work out of my home in Collegeville Pa.

You can pull your front access cover to check your front flexplate, but you are not likely to see a problem there (except for maybe metal shavings coming from a failed bearing in the TT. The sound you are hearing could be the TT bearings, loose rear flexplate bolts, or most likely, the torque converter carrier bearings.... I suggest rebuilding your TT with Constantine's super bearings... Replace the torque converter bearings while you are in there....(even if they look good!) don't ask me how I know.

I bought a few parts from Mason, and half were spectacular deals... the other half um... My mother taught me that if I don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all... She failed! The other half was CRAP!

James, good luck with the new business! Stick to honesty and integrity, and you are sure to be successful!
