If that's the game plan, give the brakes a good workout. That's what I have to do with the 79 to settle the nose.

Chuck, I looked again at my car, and it turns out that I have completely different adjuster nuts- they are flat, about 10mm thick, and use the stock spring perches- the nut is almost covered by the perch. I believe the nuts came with the shocks, because I have the stock ones that look like yours in a box here..

Thanks guys!

Weeeelllllllllllllllllll! Looks like I'm going to buy a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs. DR, Mark, Roger or anyone else that might have a new set - I'll buy them but need them overnighted to me.........

I drove it this morning and while it's lower than yesterday, it still sits really high in the front....... Perhaps third time is the charm!!!!!

Figures on the sale thing.....

Yeah, that's the down side here - Saturday on a holiday weekend. However Roger answered the phone and told me about a set a fellow RL might have for sale.

Pics after flipping the adjuster nut. While the ride height was a bit lower it isn't significant enough......

I heard from Mark Anderson and he is out. Roger pointed me to Mike McLeod who has a pair he intended to install on one of his 928s but was good enough to sell them to me given my need and he will buy another set when he gets ready to install them. This kind of thing is what makes this community such a great place.

On a side note, I mounted the mud flaps/rear flares today. B/c of how I mounted them (wurth adhesive after cutting the bolts off so I didn't have to drill holes in the car) I have elected to paint them after the install. Here's a couple pics:

Cleaning off the adhesive took the factory primer of the right side flare...

Your front may be higher than you like but I'll bet it's within factory spec and the car drives fine. You could live with it until after SITM. You're sure pushing the last minute envelope installing those flares, but they should end up looking pretty sharp.

I'm sure you're correct on the height or it's at least close; just not what I'm looking for. With the "other" Eibachs I can always raise it to stock height......

Story of my life on the flares; guess I watch too much HDTV where EVERYTHING is last minute (springs burned up sooooooo much time..... Got brake calipers/drilled rotors to do yet too. At least when it's done, its done...

Since there's a gap between the lower perch and the nut (indicating that the collar of the nut is seated into the perch) are my nuts right?
..let me clarify: are the adjustment nuts properly oriented?
pic would help:
Your nuts are installed the regular way.

Progress report:

Drove to Atlanta this morning and arrived at Mike's about noon and picked up the springs. Got back home and ~ 4 p.m. started pulling the front suspension for the third time...... Finished at 9 p.m.

Here's a picture of the 3 springs: In the middle is the stock spring and on the right is the 928 Intl Eibach spring. The one on the left is the Porsche Eib ach spring I've been trying to workf with.....

Pic of the Eibach and the Porsche Eibach:

Install complete:

Flares with clamps removed:

Plan for tomorrow is to replace the rear springs, adjust the ride height, install the rotors/red calipers and paint the flares..........

Looking at the pics of all 3 springs side by side it appears as if the Porsche Eibach has the same dia wire forming the spring as the 928intl Eibach and thicker than the stock spring. - no wonder you couldn't get the ride height down far enough. So what are the Porsche Eibachs really for - Rally Dakar 959 perhaps ??

Wow... huge difference there. You'll have no problem lowering it to the height you want now.

Now, git er dun and we'll see you at SITM.

Mike's springs were/are from 928 International but, I think they are the same as other vendors sell. At least the spring rates are listed the same on Carl's site and I'm assuming they're the same on DR's. Rears going in right now....
