Nitrous 2000 hp system soon...

Brett, you put everybody through about 6 months of oddball teasing about a 200mph car, nothing straightforward, all just speaking in riddles. It wasn't until you showed the video of the racetrack burnouts that folks believed anything at all. Pretty wild looking stuff packed into your car.
That said, why not do this with a built GM or NASCAR block? Why the Porsche part?

As you may or may not know, I used to be a Top Fuel Crew Chief and we ran engines (Keith Blacks mostly) that ran up to 6000 hp....
So I could easily have built and put in a top fuel engine and run 300 mph...lol....seriously...
But its my daily driver and using Nitromethane on the street is a little dangerous to say the least, I decided against that...besides which it would have been easy and boring...
Soooo I use my car daily and do a little racing with it at other times, and I do not mean quarters or Race track stuff (its MUCH too loud for any UK track)
So I decided to see how strong the 928 engine and tranny was...
To be honest , I was amazed...it has NEVER let me down.....it drinks oil like a drunken Indian, but apart from that. I have done NO work on the engine since I got the car, no engine rebuilds, nothing....after all its hardly run in yet at 149,000 miles
The only things mechanically I HAD to do to cope with the power (thats the mythical 1000 hp of Nitrous that nobody believes I have lol) was to change my wheels to 18 x10 rear and 18 x 7.5 front as I had no traction when I launched or changed gear... as an example....I can spin the rears on the third to fourth change at around 120 mph (on Nitrous)... I also added an LSD for the same reason....
Apart from that, I had to install a LOT of fuse boxes and relays including a £200 Mosfet to handle the power for 8 Pulsoids...plus some other electrical upgrades for my Nitrous electrics....plus the rear view camera and a few other bits and pieces , but nothing mechanical or major...
People often say I speak in riddles lol.....its just my way, plus some of the things I do with my car I would never publish on a public forum

Well, keep in mind that this is a mixed message board, with a lot of people on it.
Some people will hassle you, and other people really do want to see your results.
But obviously people hassle you more when you post stuff with no proof, no pictures, no video, etc.
So it would be my suggestion to you, that you work on your car, and when you have pics of your
system, post them. When you have dyno charts, post them. When you have video of your top
speed runs, post them. But if you post nothing but claims of what you are *going* to do,
people are going to hassle you. So try just posting after you actually achieve something,
and our responses will be a bit less cynical...
For me, even if you blow up the motor, it's still really interesting to see what you are trying to do. So personally, I don't care if you fail to meet your number estimates. It's still cool. So keep posting...
Just be aware that a lot of people are going to hassle you if you make claims without any proof.

Hmm 2000hp....with typical Nitrous BSFC of about .6 you would need 16 94lb injectors & 200gph pump..so pretty much a factor of 10x over the stock system!!!!!!!!!!!
I gotta wonder how long the stock engine-driveline can hold that type of power....

I get so confused with acronyms.
It took me some time to understand that NOS was New Old Stock. Now I see NOS being used for N2O.
Nothing to see here. Just a stupid old man here. Please move along. Took his O in with his N2O. He is OK now.

You seem surprised when you get the same results from the same behavior.
Not trying to rip on you, but this situation has been hashed over in a number of threads already.
I don't understand why you seem surprised and are now threatening to take your ball and go home - figuratively speaking of course.
I sincerely believe that 99.9% of the folks here are interested in hearing about new and exciting products and technical advances for our 928's. But as has been pointed out, posting about what to us sound like wild results with little to no data to back it up is disappointing.
And inevitably leads to exchanges like these on threads like this.

I would LOVE to see the results, seriously. It would be awesome to see. But the problem is you have installed a nitrous system that is *capable* of pumping 1000hp worth through an engine that can actually make that potential output a reality. Most here are skeptical that a 928 engine can actually turn out what that system is capable of.
So please, post a video of you spinning the tires at 120mph. That would definitely make a big difference and I'd watch it over and over.

Finally an intelligent technical comment I can answer...
See picture >>>>
The RED pipes and red Pulsoids are the fuel system SOLELY for the Nitrous , and terminate in Venom injectors which you can see drilled into the Plenum legs on the apex of the bend as they go downwards....therefor no larger injectors needed...

So, my advice, post a reply that goes something along the lines of:
"I see there are a lot of folks that would like to see some type of data and documentation, so let me see what I can do as I work through this project because I'm proud of my work and would like to share my hard won results.
So let me see what I can do and I'll get back to you guys."
And then ignore anything you perceive as unnecessarily negative, just like you would in any social situation, online or not.
Good luck and keep us posted. -Ed

I would love to but as I am in the UK,,,,,and with 120 to 130 DB of sound which excludes race tracks, there is absolutely nowhere in the UK that I can legally do that, and if I tried it on the open road, I would be looking at prison time here
I realise that sounds silly but thats UK laws for you and they take this sort of thing extremely seriously

You say you used to do drag racing, so I am sure you can find a track.
I know you don't want to hit all your power at once,
but you would at least have a nice legal venue to run your car
and see how fast you can get it without risking jail time.
Do they have any kind of open road racing,
or top speed events in the UK for street cars?
And as far as dynos, I found a ton of places in the UK that say they can handle up to 1000 horsepower cars...
http://www.strikeengine.com/garages_...ads_dynos.html
Seems like if they say they can handle a 1000 hp car, that you could de-tune and get a 700 hp run without any wheel spin...

Take it to Bruntingthorpe and see what it can do, that is legal. Have you seen the noise contraptions the racers have to run at Laguna Seca? You could do something similar just for the run. Hell an F1 with 600hp can hit nearly 200mph there so you should be comfortably in the same area. You do have options, take advantage of them!
