You list all the main parts below, so it would seem there's not much to go, but they add up to £3675 ... what are you spending the balance of £6325 on???
Hi

As i said, those are just the MAIN parts, there is a LOT of other stuff as well

All the best Brett

I think it would be REALLY SHORT! NOTHING on a stock 928 is designed to handle that sort of HP, especially in one forceful bang like you get w/ NOS! Love to see it work though!

Like what? This is what is frustrating to me when reading all this Brett .. you make statements but you're light on the detail ... or you give none. Another £6325 is a lot of money (almost double what you've spent on the MAIN parts) ... so what's it being spent on?

You said you NEEDED more HP in an early post ... what does that mean?

You also said (quote) ... I can spin the rears on the third to fourth change at around 120 mph (on Nitrous)
Then in post #43 in response to the challenge by Shmark to demonstrate that you can do that by posting a video ... you state you can't ... (quote) ...I would love to but as I am in the UK,,,,,and with 120 to 130 DB of sound which excludes race tracks, there is absolutely nowhere in the UK that I can legally do that, and if I tried it on the open road, I would be looking at prison time here ....
You claimed you could then you said you can't ... Can you spin the wheels at 120mph or not?

I'm not condemning or judging ... I'd just like to see some straight answers to questions put. Can you explain the real purpose of your posts ... because from where I sit watching this predictable train wreck of a thread ..... I really just don't get it at all.

Hi

You are correct, you are missing something, you need to read between the lines of my posts....

There are other ways of Racing cars, where you do it for money and not trophies....

Ok so there are two possibilities then. Running legally on something like a 1/4 mile drag strip, airport runway or for the really serious something like Ehra-Lessien. You've already shot down every possibility there so that leaves illegal match racing which if caught, can result in really serious jail time. And you said you don't want jail time. So what is left?

I want to see this car run. It's clear you've spent time and money on a sophisticated system. But you keep presenting wild claims and then get sketchy on details and dodge any questions. That's just very odd in this community where we like to share stuff. A 200mph car that's so loud you can't do anything but idle around your neighborhood might as well be a Segway.

I'm gonna send a note to Clarkson. He's well known for liking 928s and I'll bet he'd be interested in one with a top-fuel capable nitrous system on it. I'll bet he can get you a place to run.

The irony would be that prison officials would assign you to be an instructor in autoshop.

Email sent. Maybe we can get Clarkson's attention. Again I'll be there in June and would love to see it.

130db will "share" quite a lot. The street racers I know take great pains to make big hp as quietly as possible for exactly that reason.

Meanwhile, prison accountants will be scratching heads trying to explain a 10-fold spend increase associated with anesthesia in the dental clinic.

I can't see any good reason that you cannot run a straight through muffler. There is no restriction below except for what a straight pipe provides. Also if you want the definition of restriction, have a look at your cam profiles and exhaust manifolds, you can't seriously say to me that these mufflers are more restrictive than those parts on your car.

The front two mufflers are what I am offering for 300 pounds, given you need to spend another 6K pounds you should be able to fit them into your budget, they are rebuildable and very light and given you can't use your investment in your 928 at present, it will be money well spent.

I don't think Brett wants to film himself obviously breaking the law, especially since he is in such a distinctive car. I would love to see some evidence, but frankly, it's his money and if he wants to spend it so, then that's fine by me. As long as he has fun, that's what matters.

Seriously though, Autobahn seems like a solution. Even if there is a noise restriction, who cares? Eat the ticket for too-loud car and rock it out. Do what you have to do to get the car into the country, then drop the exhaust and don't worry about it. You probably won't get greased by a cop anyway (although I've never driven on the autobahn so I don't know what it's like)

Aren't the guy with the jet engine in his 928 filming himself making much more noise than that?
