Nitrous 2000 hp system soon...

I don't know. It's a higher speed than I would ever go on the streets and I've never raced at full power. There were restrictors that took 200hp off that I used for racing and it behaved well. Next time out there won't be any more restrictors though, we'll see....
If you were going to have 2200 hp I suppose you would want to find that English chap in the Top Gear video and ask what kind of tires he uses and how to setup the suspension. His car seemed to hook up amazingly well. I think you would have to follow the drag racing example if you were going to have really big power otherwise it wouldn't be able to do anything.

Brett,
Jeremy Clarkson would probably call you 'Certifiable'.
I have no idea why you're such a lightning rod on this forum, but you take it like a champ and keep coming back. I gotta respect that.
When I first got here a few years ago I feel like anything non-OEM was often the source of some kind of turf war between the purists and the mod-ists. Well, it seems that lately at least, the mod-ists have won out a bit or the purists have at least stopped fighting back.
Still, somehow you manage to get 5 pages in a thread, mostly from skeptics, in a day or two.
I think you enjoy the banter a bit, and one day I hope you shut everyone up with a video or timeslip that just blows everyone away. I also hope no one gets hurt in the process.
I'm looking forward to the results of this project...

Good man, interesting project, engaging.
Has shown video, too. Of burnout exhibitions in front of bunches of kids and dads.
With planned HP, safety should be considered before a repeat performance.
A flywheel crack or TC weakness and you have a grenade.
Just be safe, this is a lot of kinetic energy.
I'd have to scattershield, or at least investigate whether the body shell (which is heavy) is an acceptable substitute, it at minimum.

I'm sure everyone is interested, that's why so many people keep asking for numbers, hard data etc.... You always seam to associate people asking for results as bashing. I don't get it.
This thread deteriorated with your post (#8 to be precise) by accusing everyone of being negative which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Ptumov simply asks for a dyno graph, ¼ mile slip or time record and you perceive this as a negative comment???? C’mon Brett, lighten up a bit.
If we didn’t like you or your project we would simply ignore your posts.
Most people would take a comparison of their car to the space shuttle as a compliment.
Like I've said in at least 10 of your threads, please be safe. IMO what I saw in your car was a "safety system" well short of a 200+mph run.

My old gran used to say, " Speak of people as you find them".
Following up a particular question I had regarding part of an
older thread I e:mailed Brett "off forum". I was looking for
some technical information on semi rigid nylon high pressure
fuel pipes.
Brett replied very promptly to this and several subsequent e:mails
and was totally helpful giving me specs for the pipes and the special
connectors needed, links to suppliers for both and even contact details
for the garage that works on his 928. He has been interested, helpful,
accurate in all his information that I followed up on and friendly with it.
In Glasgow where I live he would be called "a real gen kiddy" and in the
Bournemouth area where he lives I think "diamond geezer" is the appropriate term.
Thanks Brett for all your valuable help.

You are very welcome
As you know, I help a lot of people in the UK with 928s and am always willing to do so, maybe thats why in the UK they just think I am nuts rather than stupid as a lot of posts in this thread imply lol
All the best Brett

traction will be a serious limiting factor.....as there really aren't ANY street tires that can hold 1000hp each!!!!! About 345 is the widest you can find.....and even R comps will be hard pressed to hold that type of HP When the 335/30-18 R888's were cold on the widow I could spin them at ease in 1st gear...figure 9-1 gearing making the torque around 2475 ftlbs......which your car will exceed in 4th gear!!!!!!!!

... probably seen already, but a little too much right foot at the wrong time, even at 150mph with only half the hp. IIRC, tires are 335/20's.

What kind of hp can a stock bottom end handle? Will stock rods handle 800hp? I don't mean to be another soothsayer but I'm really scratching my head on this one.

The upgrade will be £10,000
If I was doing this for BS, it is a rather expensive brag, so far my system has cost me well over £10,000 and the new system will cost me a similar amount to convert to...
Now people may well call me a lot of things but stupid is not one of them and spending £20,000 ($29,654) for something that did not work would be utterly nonsensical....
You list all the main parts below, so it would seem there's not much to go, but they add up to £3675 ... what are you spending the balance of £6325 on???

The Wizard of NOS products are simply amazing. Cool forum too! I will definetly will be getting a system but nothing like Brett's. 150 shot w/ a nice controller.
Brett was so helpful. I almost pulled the trigger on a system but my car needed paint real bad and I went ahead with that, cam's and TB. Next tax return I will be getting a NOS system for sure.
My thought is heads should get me to 250rwhp and a 100 brings me to 350rwhp which I think is perfect fro a street 928. I can always swap the system to the engine I really want to build!
Thanks for all your kindness Brett!

So do you or do you not have any measured data about your existing "1000hp" Porsche 928? I don't need time slips, notarized dyno graphs, witnesses, or anything like that. I assume you're a stand up guy, so trust your word. Just tell us, do you have any evidence or measurements of your "1000h"p system's actual performance?

I have explained this before in another thread but let me do it again...
With my Maxx Race controller and the new Revo`s , I will have the ultimate progressive SMOOTH power...
That sounds a little silly so let me simplify it...
Imagine I am accelerating with lets say 310 hp (normal 928 power)...then I hit the Nitrous....now in the old days with fixed hit systems, when you "hit it" you got an instant EXTRA amount of hp.... lets say 100 hp extra....
So you would have 310 hp then INSTANTLY 410 HP ..within a 10th of a second or so...
That sort of Torque INSTANTLY can damage rods/pistons/cranks/trannies etc...
Now...the new Revo system and Maxx Controller.....
I am accelerating with 310 hp and I hit the Nitrous button.... in the first 100th of a second it would ADD ...1 hp...in the next 100 th of a second it would be 2 hp..etc...etc...etc...
So after 1 second I will have the same 100hp as before but absolutely SMOOTHLY.....with no instant damaging torque hit...
You can continue to do that for 200 hp or 500 hp or 1000 hp or 2000 hp...
The figures in all that are not precise, its to demonstrate the principle, which is so new to the Nitrous world....
"The REVO – a Rotary Electronic Variable Orifice which delivers progressive power without being pulsed"
I hope that helps
All the best Brett
