so, i have have taken the brace plate off, but the old bushing WILL NOT COME OUT.... im thinking i will have to take the rack OUT to press them out.... not to mention the 17mm bolt need to be held on the top end and on the drivers side are almost impossible to hold... ugh. any tips or tricks to this?
Air hammer with a notched chisel bit is the only way to get the old ones off in a timely manner.

well i dropped the rack... sort of. i might even replace it since im there, but it WILL NOT separate from the steering coupling on the steering wheel shaft. what i need is the jaws of life. but when i do get it out, i cant wait to install the bushing! they look great!
as long as you dont mess with the tie rods ends, you should be ok. im guessing later cars had different bushing that are not "formed" on the rack the this set was. i had to take the rack out to get them off. the hardest part of doing that was getting the splines for the steering rack and the coupler to go back on.
