"Anti Lock Off" may indicate no reading from one of the wheel speed sensors. Since these same sensors are used by the PSD system, there's a chance both systems will come back to life together.
Beautiful car, it's fantastic to see one so much like new, and so beautifully outfitted with all the interior leather pieces!

Beautiful car, worth maybe triple or more if it was in the USA.
I would not trust the "rubber looks good" assessment at all. Once you find an expert in the 928 to service it, the list of things to do won't be small. What would be the point of having such a fine example if it wasn't in perfect functional condition?
Where will the car eventually be living?
Where in Brunei should a 928 be taken for service?

My timing belt on my car looked basically new on my 944 and I broke it with some adjustable plyers while dong a clutch job. Luckily I didn't have the car running and no valves were injured. So as was stated before, change the belts thses guys say to change, you will be happy that you did.

You better take it to a garage that knows Porsches. Your diff pump could be dry as it's been parked all those years. If u run it dry, you would need a replacement. You would need to reset all the faults at the dealer QAF or take it to Thomas at Telanai.

Hey Hilton, My 92 & 93 GTS are for sale. But both are autos. The 92 has 2,658KM & the 93 has 50,788KM done. I had a Thrust Bearing failure on the 93 and the block is damaged. So using as part bin for the 92.

Hello,
OK thanks for the help. BTW I NOTICE WHEN DRIVING a bit around the neighborhood- The speedo which indicate your speed is not working but the oil indicator, RPM, Temperature is working. Please advice.!
I went to the Porsche dealer just now & get a quote for the Timing Belt change.
1) Spark plugs $15 X 8
2) Timing Belt 928 105 157 50 296.10 $295
3) Tensioner roller 928 105 512 12 $316.50
4) Roller 928 1055 7104 $300.25
So tell which site offer the timing belt? I want to compare price.
Tom in Austin,
Beautiful car you got here- there's one like that for sale that day. Thanks- I was recommended to bleed the brake. Maybe by next week. I sent my car to dealer or specialist for check up.
danglerb,
In the garage. Not a fully close garage...
928Luv2,
Are you from Brunei? Where is Thomas's workshop?. I wasn't recommended by some people to Thomas. I was recommended to take the RNF workshop that service Rolls, Ferrari at Bunut. Please advice.
& lastly- Should I worry about TBF now?

Have the shop take off the cover and look at the flex plate. With so few miles there is virtually no chance of a problem now and you may not even want to have them release any little un-detectable tension it might have because the clamp is factory set now and should be good. Time has nothing to do with it, it is use that can make it a problem.
Perhaps in 1 year when it is checked again you can use one of the very good extra clamps made by members here.

The speedometer and odometer input on your car is from the left rear wheel ABS sensor. If the ABS system is reporting no faults, the problem is likely to be a faulty connection, possibly at the digital dash connection in the instrument pod.
On our website ( www.928gt.com ), we have a complete listing, with prices, of every part available from Porsche for your 928, plus many aftermarket and OEM parts and accessories. While these are lower than Porsche dealer prices, this will give you an idea of what the parts should cost. We, and the other vendors, can ship world-wide.
If the car were mine, I would be very hesitant to start ripping all of the rubber out of the engine compartment...

Today 1 Brunei dollar is $0.71 US, so your plugs are $10.50, TB is $209, TB roller is $225, and the other roller is $215.
I think the local dealer got used to the Sultan not quibbling over price.....
From any of the major 928 vendors in the U.S (928Intl (www.928intl.com), 928 Specialists (www.928gt.com), Roger Tyson (928sRus.com)),
Plugs are ~$2.50, even a factory Porsche TB is $90, the tensioner roller is $75, and the other roller is $50.
All these vendors are familiar with international shipping. Not sure about customs delays etc to Brunei but I'd at least look into buying parts in the States.
You'll get lots of opinions on timing belts, the consensus here now is that the Conti belts wouldn't be anyone's first choice. I would not stray too far from either a Porsche belt or the Gates T196 belt that Roger sells. For roughly 14% of what your dealer wants for a belt: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...e-28-50-a.html

Do the interior lights work? One odd quirk of 928's is that the fuse for the interior lights also handles the pulse-sender which drives the speedo If your interior lights don't work, then its a very cheap and easy fix.
If you look at the fuse/relay charts at www.928gt.com you'll be able to spot which is it (fuse 24 I think from memory on my '89, might be the same)
You do need to be careful of RHD parts (not so much for the timing belt job, however a lot of hoses in the engine bay are RHD-specific).
If you're not confident of being able to detect/find part numbers yourself in the Porsche parts catalogue, then I'd recommend Roger Tyson of 928srus - he's familiar with RHD cars and has provided me with RHD parts on several occaisions. For your help, RHD part numbers all start with 927, not 928.

For most practical issues the 928 might as well not be a Porsche, the dealer will be able to order parts, but may not have a mechanic that has seen a 928 before, or in the last year or two. You need to find someone that knows the 928 well, has all the special tools and manuals, and experience in trouble shooting issues unique to the 928. Shipping it to Greg Brown in Anaheim, Calif to bring all the PM up to date is something to consider.
My question on location was long term, I think one of your early posts mentioned you are stationed in Brunei, so I was wondering which country it might end up in.

If the interior lights fuse is burned out, and continues to burn out, check the overhead light fixtures for shorting against the roof. This is a common fault.
