From their website "The motor and transmission both have clean oil and the undercarriage shows no sign of any damage of any kind water included."

I've been told the engine and trans have already been drained and the fluids were clean. I would rather have seen it myself but oh well. Seems a bit odd that they would have drained it. I can see checking them for contamination, but why drain them completely? I'm sure there are several answers to that question.

Electronic dash makes a rollback just about impossible. However, it's pretty easy to swap the pod and the odometer reading is stored in the pod.

There was less than 6 months between the dates of the odometer discrepancy (which is only 200 miles off). It's probably just an error. Also, if someone went to the trouble to do this, they probably wouldn't be stupid enough to roll it back past where it was recorded last time.

this is a very fast car with an electrical problem that someone is going to be enjoying very soon.

for the record my 944 has a salvage title but there is no evidence of damage whatsoever resultant of a crash or anything. it was repainted but the frame is straight, nothing is bent or anything. maybe it got into a fenderbender, idk but i cant tell now!

Looks like it was in for service when it got totaled(?). Maybe someone can contact the servicer and find out what happened.
