Right now my car looks ridiculous with mismatched wheels because I had to do an emergency swap to my old flat dish wheels and tires for the rears a couple of weeks ago.
Something about the chips I've been testing has had an adverse effect on the tread wear of my back tires. Guess my bonus this year is going for new rubber all around.
Lovin' the current chips, I can't wait to check out the final edition.

So if I understand this correctly, I send my chip and $5 back to you (Porken) and you will update it? And if I want to buy my plugs from you as well, how much more should I include?

If you have a previous version of my chips installed, you pay only $5 for postage and packaging. I send you the new versions with a postage paid mailer to return the old ones. If you want to upgrade your spark plugs, and you can't find the NGK 2912 (BP8ES) plugs at your local auto parts place, it's $25. I'm not really set up to handle tons of plugs, so please check locally, first. (If I get too many requests, I will have to raise the price and/or remove that option.)
If I don't have you on my list of folks who have purchased from me (say, the car in question has changed hands), then you will have to mail -my- old chips back first.
If you have stock chips, then the price is...>$5.

Seems everyone wants the new plugs...
I've removed that option from the upgrade.
No {plugs} for you! NEXT!
...
I may have to stop calling my '86.5 a piggy. It is a bit heavy, stock-ish, with cast-lead replica 18" twists, but now that we have some dry pavement here again, and I can use the big fat Kumhos (useless in the wet), she really scoots. Strangely quiet too. I think it may be the injector advance timing which I messed a bit with not only makes more power at part throttle, it also makes for a quieter exhaust note. More burning done in the cylinders, less as the exhaust valve is opening. Anyhu, I don't mind being a bit more stealthy. Doesn't look I'm trying so hard keeping up with the Rexies.

Is the chip for an 85 the same for an 86.5? Same engine, right? Everything I'm reading in this thread has been more convincing than any ad campaign. I want them.

Chips installed and tested... great job, definite improvement and well worth the upgrade cost :-)
The power seems a smoother, more intense and available in more of the power band. Filled up with plus for the first time in many years this morning. It's about 60F in Houston today, so nice cool weather helps too. Still running on my 10 year old Bosch +4 plugs, but will try to get the new plugs installed this weekend. The car is just scary fast now. Thanks for your obsession on this project, much appreciated.
PS, the metal tabs on the LH box don't seem to like to be bent open more than about 3 times. I lost two this time. Yours must be long gone. Should not have to open it again for a long time though...

Karsten - I'm going to wait a week or so before I send yours. I'm waiting for any problems to show up. I thought of you while I was testing the chips - many, many test runs to 6600 rpm in 3rd (~180 kph), and a good number to 6000+ in fourth gear (~225 kph). Can't go very far on my 'test track', but it is very stable at that speed. BTW, do your wipers work above 160 kph? Mine don't.
Don - sweet. I'm glad it works well for you. I just took all the tabs off of the LH. The bolts hold the cover on, anyway. I bent the remains of the EZ tabs (they break after a while too) in such a way that I could pop the case on and off.

Ken,thatīs very promising.Maybe itīs the perfect set for my LPG driven engine.
What do you think about the special LPG plugs from NGK ?
My wipers are good for 110-120 miles per hour.
They are much quieter at high speed too.

Ken,
I bought the Bosch coppers based on your previous recommendation but haven't installed them yet. Is there any way you can quantify how much better the NGK non-resistor plugs would be? Are we talking a few HP? Does non-resistor mean there would be noise in the stereo?
