You will have to do some research on the acidic bit, I believe it is a by product of combustion but also the oil you are using may be a good one but it is also too thin for the car and LPG. Unless you are just using that oil in winter even then it is a stretch.
Greg
EDIT I got this off another message board, this is basically what I was told by an oil engineer.

Not pertaining to the question but still important to know when using LPG . Use an engine oil rated for LPG , like Penrite HPR Gas etc. There are acidic by products that enter the oil after combustion when using LPG that will attack the white metal in Babbitt bearings . I have seen it remove the entire coating of white metal and just leave the Copper . Even though the oil stays clean , the acid content will be high . LPG rated oil has additives that neutralize the acid .

I am just getting ready to install my new chips and fpr in my 86.5 5 speed. I already have the xpipe without cats. I had my car dynoed and it made 295rwhp. I plan to dyno it again when I have the chips installed, so I should have a good before and after set of numbers. One thing that would be nice would be a clear set of step by step instructions for the chip install as I am a little worried about doing damage to the computors.

I see you are local guy, Imre (Imo000) and/or myself would be able to give you a hand with it if you are unsure it is a 20 minute job.

Thanx again for the offer to help with my chip install Cosmo. We had a slow day at work today so my apprentice and I installed the chips and fpr. I am quite pleased with the results. My car is the 5-speed model and it takes off from a stop smoother than before and it seems to have more power than before as well. If I get a chance I will get it back on the dyno and report back with the results.

If you get to the dyno, you can see if you need to plug the LH 'richer' connectors together. (Don't plug the EZF connectors together!) With non-ethanol gas in Canada, you probably will not.
WOT AFR should be low 13's at 6000 rpm. If it is high 13's, then plug the connectors together.

Ted is correct. A few uphill runs in 2nd (auto/man) at WOT will show you the AFR, which should go from 2K/low 12's to 6K/low 13's with a S300s chipset.
Note that the plugging together the LH connectors doesn't do much with the stock LH chip. It only changes the bias (richer) of the O2 sensor loop slightly.
