89 GT on DC CL...$1000.00
#18
There is a person who bought an 89 GT and put a 640 HP LS7 engine in it for track use, he had the engine exhaust and some other stuff with it for sale.
I believe its still for sale.
Im sure some of you remember the thread.
Edit: Its actually a 91 GT engine, sorry,

Here's the deal. It was a recovered theft and it has a salvage title. Of course I bought it anyway for the price. The thieves ran it through the woods to hide it but it is alright shape. Has a good black interior and a near perfect dash and pod. The trans. is missing everything else is ok. Apparently the thieves blew the engine but it was never checked out. If that sounds strange the person I got it from is the owner of Autothority there in VA. Huge tuner shop loaded with Porsches and he didn't give a damn about this 928 at all and just wanted it out of his shop. It is indeed a real GT.

Hate to see it get parted, but the chances of it ever becoming a true GT again and slim. Esp. considering the salvage title. Based on what your said, I would have bought it to for parts too.
You asked who needs parts, so... I'll wait until you start a proper FS thread when you're ready.
Were you already on this or did this RL thread tip you off?

For a premium I would sell a GT trans I have. I paid premium for it, and it has only sat on my garage floor since purchase. It is from a PSD 928, but could be fitted with the LSD adaption kit Carl F. has.
Of course the cost of the car would be cheap compared to what I would want for the trans.
I know the motor mentioned in this thread could also be bought, but for premium as well. The owner, Larry, might be interested in the complete car to put the motor in it instead of selling the motor.

Whether it ends up as a parts car or a revived 'GT', it's now in good hands. I wish you luck w/this, Kevin.
What kills me is that this would have been the perfect donor for the front-end 'totaled' '89 GT a few years back (thread). You remember that one. Take a look at Chuck Z's post #28 for pics.
35k & mint until the front-end hit. Possible frame tweak, engine likely fine; trans. fine; everything windshield back unaffected. Just in need of a front end. Ended up going to a dismantler in PA for $4k
Gio..you mentioned Linen seats...this black '89 GT had a perfect Linen interior.
Sometimes the stars just don't align....
