My 91 GT engine for sale
As some of you know I sold my 91 GT to a racer who replaced the engine and put in a fuel cell. He called me yesterday and mentioned that he was thinking of selling the entire drop-in engine for around $5500.00. This is an 80K mile engine which had a complete top end (intake) done about 6 years ago including powder coating the intake and cam covers. It will need a TB and I'd redo the intake stuff before I dropped it in. The guy's name is Larry Ewart and he may be posting here as well. He also has the complete exhaust with x pipe, hi flow cats and RMB as well. The entire setup dynoed at 310 RWHP.

Ernie, did your stomach do flips when he swapped engines?
That is a HELLUVA deal on a complete drop in engine! Wish I had a GT just so I could justify buying a spare!

So basically he's selling the 928 engine to cover the costs of the entire LT conversion...since LT engines are cheap right now, since everyone wants the LS series motor.... But I want to say the most powerful production LT series motor was 330 hp in the 1996 corvette grand sport....not worth dumping a 310whp engine thats already in the car?

Hi Ernie-
Hope you're well and still reading posts.
As you may already know, the car has found its way to the track for some sorting out. The motor is a dry sump LS7 (630hp @ fly). It's had a lot of modifications, cage, seats, cell, springs, brakes, etc. Over the next few weeks, the fenders will be modified to accept 335 x 18s on all four corners and the wing and splitter should be finished. The car will then be leaving its summer home in Lake Tahoe and going to Spring Mountain Raceway for additional suspension tuning. Then on to Phoenix for some paintwork and winter track time.
All of the removed parts are in my garage in Phoenix (except fuel tank and rear air unit), waiting for better economic times before offering them for sale (no longer considering putting motor into wife's '82 Auto.)
IcemanG17 has posted some pictures of the car when it was at Thunderhill last week (10-3-09 Post #1 & 17), should you be interested
