Default Porsche 928 manufacturing Videos

Hi All,

I found these cool videos from the early 80's on youtube. Covers all porsche models, but mostly 928. Enjoy.

"a mass produced Porsche? Unthinkable"

Thats something i heard in the video (great videos by the way) I am still not sure if i think Porsche being under the VW arm is a good thing or a bad thing for me, the consumer of second hand Porsches who loves cool cars.

I really really do love the idea of the "new 356" A car sub boxster price and size with a mid mounted 4 cylinder engine. I would love a car say 3/4 boxster scale and no more than 2600 lbs with a compact, efficient 200hp HO 4 cylinder engine...... Piech wants to make me one of those last i read. I suppose the mass produced porsche could be a good thing.

Isn't that a Miata? Hard to imagine anyone being able to produce a better overall car that meets those parameters. Only reason someone would buy a Porsche of that type would be for, at best, similar performance and the Porsche name.

Great vids btw.

How about a small roadster with a boxer engine in the front like the Subaru WRX? Why not use all the years of flat six technology? It could certainly have a low center of gravity...

Hi All,

I am new to the Porsche hobby. I have had my 928 for 3 weeks now. I am so impressed with German engineering. Just think that your Porsche received personal attention when it was built. Not some fast moving auto assembly line, with workers that just cant wait for their next break. Now that I have seen these videos. I will be thinking of the caring people that built my car. Makes me feel even better, maybe even special to own a Porsche. Take care.

I asked myself the same thing after seeing the hood line on the Panamera to make room for the truck engine.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to stuff an air cooled turbo into the front of a 928
