Adrian, that is correct,
Stephan, you would need to do the same thing as for the 5L. But you would need to make sure your bore is large enough for the larger valves to work in.

Don't know if these heads are similar. Intake valve would be the one to watch and it is 45mm for the Euro S head.
But a cam this hot on a 4.5l? I hope you have a 5 speed!

I would recommend this setup more for someone building a 5.0L bottom end with an engine management system that wont strangle it for air.
But that said it is a good system for just about any engine. This setup was on an auto too.

Yes It is a 5spd. What does flycutting the pistons intail? Do the have to be removed from the block, pull the motor, that type of thing?
There is a gentleman selling a refreshed block on the forum, would it be better to buy the shortblock and get forged pistons done?
I would look into buying a euro intake as suggested.

This setup comes with an intake. But it would not be able to use CIS. I would recommend a system like MS for that.
And if you are thinking about building another engine for this then go with a 4.7L bottom end as they are very cheap. Heck I am pretty sure if you contacted the OP he probably has a good 4.7L bottom end and for the right price could throw this all together as a package deal.
Mark Kibort has flycut pistons with them in the engine.
If you have the motor out of the car though, I would pop the pistons out and have them milled on a machine.

Last I checked the 4.7L rings were cheap, while the 4.5L were over the top. I could be wrong about that, but I dont think I am.
Stefan,
TB is there, MS does not require a MAF. I am not sure if Terry will include the injectors with this setup, but I believe everything else will be there.

So if I am following everything, this will work on a 4.5L shortblock w/ the piston's cut, MS and the intake that comes w/ the package. I would need to buy injectors, correct.

Thanks Colin , for your input , this system would be perfect for a 4.7 or a fly cut 5.0 To make it run nicely the motor would need a mod. or stand alone management system (i have extra HALTEK c/w harness) as well as a good 4.7 long block . It would be very easy to put a 4.7 with all the goodies back in my 81, but then I would need an other car for the 6.5L . 3 - 928s is a hard sell when I am looking at other cars. Terry

Thank you for your help. Now let's keep our fingers crossed and my house closes in the next week. Everything looks great but you never know, it's been going since aug so it's close. It is tied in w/ my trust fund and that complicates everything!
Time to have some fun!

Greg , using a tape measure ( my calipers are at work) 40mm exzost 45 mm intake . The ratainers are titanium . In order to run a high lift cam .513 lift, the base circle must be reduced, inorder to fit the cams into the cam housing. with a reduced base circle(2mm) the springs and retainers must be modified. the springs are 125# on the seat ,the titanium is lighter and stronger. that is why the heads must be matched to the cams . This set up is good for 7500rpm + without float . Pictures of the ports , I can not figger out how to post on rennlist. The porting cost 3500.00 alone . pm me your email and I will Try. Terry

Hi Terry, as to the photos, what is easy is to use Photobucket, it is free and easy, so best of both worlds. You upload your pic from your computer or phone and photobucket give you a URL for the pic. You don't have to resize which is required for using the Rennlist server. My email is ggray1964@yahoo.com
I thought the retainers looked like they were Ti, they would have been a pretty penny back in their day. The set of heads I did for a 2V engine had no Ti retainers and used 110 seat pressure with 260 open pressure but the revs are limited to 6720.
Thanks Greg
