I want the one next to "Quick Loans"! ;-)

Well at last I'm nearly in a position to be able to commit to attending.

UK passport renewed (I got a sign for delivery note in the post today so hopefully that's the passport)

Time off work approved (Not so happy the visit to Texas will be part of a round the world trip to see ailing father while he's still alive)

Just got to hope that the sign for delivery is my Passport and not a speeding ticket!

All being well - should be able to book hotels flights etc. and the full fee for attending within the next couple of days. Unfortunately Sendarius will beat me on the furthest travelled route I think.

Sorry to hear about your Father.
Looking forward to seeing you.

Flights reserved. leave booked, OCIC registered and paid.
Now sort out the hotel thing
decide what parts I want to carry back ! - just how much 4 brake rotors weigh?
May not beat Sendarius on the furthest travelled but I'll bet my airfares are more expensive than his.

So whats the deal with the Sheraton ?
Are there any special deals still going or is it $150 per night ? Will still be staying there at that rate but if I can buy the same room for less then why not.

Jon - I used Hotels.com and got an average $104 (USD) per night rate at the Sheraton.

I used Expedia and got an average of $104 also. I think with taxes and fees the total for 3 nites was $360 or about $120 nite. That was for a single King size /2 people

Jon,
If you do not get a decent rate via the websites suggested let me know and I will sort it for you.

Steve

How are you flying - do you have to pedal to turn the props or wave your arms to flap the wings

Me's thinking some redemption of ff miles happened ?

FWIW our flights round the world (we're going to the UK afterwards) were $9k AUS so about $7.5k US - got to win a prize for the most expensive trip

Hotel now booked - average room rate $119US per night with breakfast. THanks to those who pointed us in the direction of hotels.com. Only got a decent rate when we looked at the US hotels.com web though - same deal via the AUS version was $50US per night more.

We should be there thursday late afternoon and leaving Monday late afternoon. I'ld have liked to have a longer break and expolred a bit of TX but that will have to wait - not the right time of GFC to be taking too much time off work.

So where's the party start on the Thursday night ?

Thursdays party? We don't know yet, but some of us are thinking about staying that night at the hotel just in case things get a little boozy.

Well Shucks,
Sorry to hear the autox got cancelled.

I'm planning to leave Ohio Wednesday morning, no specific time... Hope to be there Thursday afternoon-evening... Since I don't imbibe, I'll offer to help fetch folks from the airport, if the Sheraton shuttle won't take you...

Since Rick is a local from my area, I've offered him any seat time he needs, since he has to fly in and out, if any travel occurs, but after that, the co-pilot seat is open.

Oh my yes, karting would again be a blast! Especially if the track is like the one that was at the '06 event in Denver! What was it, 45-50 mph??? REAL karts, not the majik mtn. junk.... Hmmm, may have to make a detour back up through Denver... Erik????

S4ordie, I'm with you! Real Texas foods please, since I rarely get down there, but please, for my sake, no volcano spices? Willing to travel, isn't it obvious???

Roger and crew, Thanks for hosting this event!

Used parts vendors, I still am looking for rear light harness sockets, or both whole harness'..... Maybe a maroon/burgundy driver's seat? Depending on price, maybe both?

Roger, you going to have some parts there also? A set of your rack bushings would be nice...

Irish, my wif bought my shark for me! These folks ARE family.

The carting would be fun. Roger and others is there a list of everyone that has confirmed they are attending the OCIC? I was curious about who I was going to meet there.

My offer to pick up the bar tab for ale, beer, wine and some bourbon for the OCIC crew on Thursday evening still stands.

Was treated very very very well many years ago by some Aussies and Kiwis for the America's Cup in San Diego. Only thing I was obligated to do was to someday return the favor to a well desrving bunch of mates. Well I'd say my first OCIC is reason enough.

Funny little story - After a full day of racing the Aussie/Kiwi's came into one of my favorite haunts -Kansas City BBQ in San Diego. We all hit it off and in exchange for the secret tour, pub crawl through the Gas Lamp district, I paid for nothing. Later when the constables arrived I found it hilarious when they asked the Kiwi's "where areyou from?" they said Australia and when the Aussies were asked the same question they said New Zealand.

Looking for a good time. Will loiter in the hotel lounge/parlor/bar around 5:00 . Should have a brew or few then find a good Texas barbeque for supper, then return to the hotel for more libation.

Cheers and looking forward to meeting everyone,
Dan

Three of us from PacNW are touching down at 11:40pm thursday night, which means we should arrive at the Sheraton just in time to help close the bar down.
