Me and Chris returned home Wednesday evening and I'm slowly getting back to normal. That may not be a good thing.

Many thinks to Roger, Jim, and all the other DFW volunteers who put on this great OCIC event. The location and accommodations were outstanding. I enjoyed visiting with acquaintances I only see at these events plus making new friends too.

It has been 20 or more years since I spent much time in Texas and what refreshing observations we noticed there as contrasted to the more oppressive, over regulated, over taxed, high cost business unfriendly state where we live. We can't even put fuel in our own cars and it costs us $0.40+ more per gallon. I loved driving on your good roads with reasonable speed limits rather than our revenue enhancing continuous speed traps. We are going to bestow upon ourselves the status of "honorary Texans".

Some trip stats:
Total miles driven, 4464
Average fuel mileage, 17.4 mpg
Total fuel cost, $734.25
No measurable oil used
No car problems
Bugs killed, 3,472,112

I'm just stunned that you can go over 4,000 miles on one set of rear tires.

Louie, feel free to join us in Texas any time. The beer's always cold and the drives are always fun.

My regrets in being unable to attend, looks like a great time had by all!

Did anyone round up the GTS's and take a group shot like OCIC '06?

When I am far from home and have a good chance of shattering everything behind the clutch, I tend to be easy on the throttle. The tires showed little wear. I just checked.

We discussed that option on the way home. It may happen. The "progressives" have a firm grip on us here and it isn't pretty. We have State run health care which doesn't provide necessary treatment for many illnesses. It's a cost saving feature. We also have assisted suicide available. The two work well together where the state won't provide needed treatment, but does provide the barbiturate laced orange juice so you can "do the right thing" and off yourself. The older I get, the less attractive this seems. Fortunately, we still have private health care and aren't in the public system. Many other reasons for not being here, IMHO.

The question is: Were they killed FAST?

It was great to see you and Chris again!

I'm beginning to understand why there are not too many car enthusiasts from Oregon on these message boards... They all moved elsewhere!

Hi Nicole,
No bugs suffered for long. I don't know if the Oregon population is moving + or -. It does seem a destination for California expats so maybe balances out. Of course my value of freedom and liberty isn't shared by all.

I decided to put together one last dyno video.... this one has the dyno printouts for all but one car. I threw in a few pictures and some music. I had to dust off an old copy of Adobe Premier... so the transitions aren't quite right... but you get the point. Apologies for the marginal quality. The original video is 980MBs uncompressed. I don't have any my high end video gear functioning at the moment, so I had to rely on Windoze software...

Thanks to everyone for posting the pics and video and congratulations to Roger and the Texas crew for putting together what looks to be a great gathering of devoted 928 fanatics. We wish so much that we could have been there but we just couldn't make it happen. Hopefully we'll get another opportunity to see you folks and your incredible cars soon.
