Secure your fire extinguisher!!!
Had mine loose in the back while at SITM. Following Charly ( from Knoxville ) through some really nice twisties and the valve broke!!! I heard a loud rushing noise then a 1/2 second what I thought was SMOKE filled the car. When I say "fill the car" ... In less than a second I could not see my steering wheel! Sunroof and both windows were down and still in an instant could not see a thing! Thank God there was a place to pull off the road close. The first second it happened it scared the crap out of me!!! I thought I had torn the trans out. The car looked like someone had thrown a 50LB bag of flower in there...the black dash and cashmere seats were the same color! I would of taken pics but I was lucky enough to have my camera included in the items covered in "flower". No one was following me so I was thankful for that but I'm sure it would of been a sight to behold! The powder covered the windows and SHOOTING out the sunroof covering the back roof and hatch. Reminds me of something in a cartoon. Spent the next 2 days cleaning and STILL I am finding dust....moral of the story...STOW the extinguisher well.

Another reason for securing it is in an accident, you don't want it to become a rather heavy flying projectile.

Dean, I'm sorry, but seeing you and the car after this made me laugh my *** off. It would have been better for both of us if it had happened in my car, I need to replace everything and you didn't until now.
The way you told us the story had my stomach hurting. The wine helped the story too. Great to see you and Charlie again.

I got a mount from Stable Energies (thanks to seeing Dave's) and it's great. Easy to install, well made and the customer service there is great.

Always glad to add to the entertainment... I know I was lucky not just while it was happening but so far the clean up is looking good....not great but good. We will see after a week more of cleaning every day.

Burning Brakes
This is a good reminder, I have mine wraped in a large rag to keep it from moving around and is placed on the floor behind the front passenger seat. Sooo a good question is where do the smart people place their extinguishers and how are they attaching them?

I would add: Secure EVERYTHING.
If you've ever been on a boat in rough seas you know that anything that weighs more than a piece of paper can become a dangerous flying object.

Glad I won the Brey-Krause fire extinguisher bracket door prize at SITM!!
What halon fire extinguisher do you fellas recommend? I guess I need the 2.5 lb size for that bracket and mounting location.
