I hear you Charley, I bought the car sight unseen and had it delivered. When it arrived it had less than quality paint issues (deep clearcoat and base coat stains on the hood, fenders and roof) as well as the later discovered signficant front end damage that had not been adequately repaired previously. Correcting those things as well as making the decision on having the engine built up, meant there was an opportunity to upgrade/enhance the car to my concepts. If the car had been a perfect example 928 with low miles I would have left it alone. Much as I have done to the Zyclamrot car, though it has been completely gone through from headlights to tail lights. It is a stock car, mostly, and will remain so.

I'm looking forward to driving it someday soon and visiting as many 928 events as possible so others can see what amazing people there are in this community and what a 21st Century 928 runs and looks like. It is funny, this car, though I hold title to it, does not feel like mine. Rather I feel like, as others have said of their cars, like its caretaker.

I've done that. All i can edit is the post thread title not the entire Thread title. It updated the #1 post title but not the 'master' thread title.

If thats the case then masking off as much as possible with plastic sheeting will be about the best you can do,,
I would put a few coats of lexol on the dash and pod and not wipe them off so it builds up a coating ,
then mask off the pod and dash put a towel into the instruments face to keep the OS from getting on it,
the OS is like a room fogger virtually any uncovered area will have it.
Cover the carpets with towels

For the suspension the same things must be done
you might consider spraying it down with WD40 prior to masking this will make it easier to wipe it off and have it look pretty fresh.
It really is awesome to all of the parts looking factory fresh

WOW! Dan, that car is going to be beautiful and unique - very nice mods and top shelf workmanship throughout!

Well Done!

I like the change in direction for the interior. Glad to see it's finally coming together!

Wow!

That's my favorite color. It can seem tough to have a black interior with green paint but that interior of your makes it work very well. This is now my favorite paint/interior combo ever!

After a predetermined duration (not sure what it is) the system prevents any further changes to the title by the OP.

A mod can still edit it, however.

Thanks Randy,

That explains things. I sent pm's to Erik and Gretch a couple of days ago asking for help. I'm sure they can.

July 27, 2012 -

Almost a year since the last update (Aug 2011) so time for more info and pics.

We have paint on the car! It is curing now and in the next couple of weeks general reassembly begins. Engine is in car, Rob Edwards has performed most gracious cleaning and reconditioning of many of the interior components. We have all of the interior parts.

Last phase will be Sorting. Once the car is reassembled it will be sent back to Greg Brown's shop for the final tuning, road prep and break in.
