Not scrapped. Paul will use it for a future project. He can remove/replace the turquoise components of the already completed front seat covers and the door panel without too much effort. The rest of the interior had not been recovered so not much lost, in fact nothing lost.

I forgot to include some pics of the crate Paul has built for shipping the interior from Texas to California.
Even this is designed over the top and indeed looks better than some of the furniture I have in my house.

Dan ... this is going to be a showcase car for all the brilliant developments and craftsmanship of exceptionally talented people in this community.
That interior is just beautiful ... you couldn't have made a better choice.
Looking forward to seeing more pics as you progress.

Wow!
The interior colors are perfect for the color of the paint job.
The seats can be classed as fine sculptures and they would not look out of place in an art museum!
Mr. Champagne and crew do some fine work and we should feel fortunate that they are part of our little community.
Can't wait to hear and see it all put together.
Nice job Dan, you are one fortunate 928er.
Best regards,

WOW its nice to be able to make these kinds of updates to your car.
The colors look great. It will be a terrific example.
I can only hope that you have all of the paint work, buffing done before the engine and interior are installed so the car will look as fresh as possible.
I have not seen any type of masking that will completely seal out the clear over spray,
it will get on any surface in the paint booth,
all of your work making the shiny parts shiny will be covered in a matte haze.
Good luck with your project

Dan, when you decided to take this car apart and do a personalized mod job on it I was really disappointed because I thought it was possibly the nicest looking S4 I had seen.
Due to the quality of the work you're doing I'm afraid I'm fast becoming a fan.

The car will be painted post install of the engine, dash and pod. The interior will only have the carpet installed. The removable body panels will be painted separate from the car then assembled later. I hear you about the over spray but all involved says this is the best way to do a 928 and to make the paint look factory. In the end the car will not be perfect, and there will be things we will all look at and think "hmmmmpf, maybe this or that could have been done differently" but in the end that is what, in time, will endear the car to me even more. Despite my flaws, there are many, my wife and daughters love me in spite of them. This car will be like that too.
Now if somebody could tell me how to change the thread title I'd be really happy.
