The cost is in the maching and plating.
My machinist is in Fort Worth.
We tried using a stock clamp but would not work and do the job properly to my satisfaction.
Too hit and miss on the tolerance and the bolts were only on one side of the clamp.
To reach the torque we needed to grip the shaft - we have a test flex plate and shaft - we had to use thread inserts and higher strength bolts.
In the end it was easier to just manufacture them.

Shipping this weekend finally.

Are you still using S.S. for the collar? Did you try Alum. with Helicoil or Keen-serts? I've seen two piece machinable clamps ready to go before, with large bolts. Have you tried the hinge style collars with one bolt?

Hi Roger,

On this pont we would recommend checking for movement at least at every oil change or when they are under the car. The check is simple and will add maybe 10-15 mins. to whatever else they are doing.

This is not being said as a slight against your PKlamp, we recommend checking frequently even for those who use our Super Clamp.

TBF is a nasty thing to befall a 928er and for some a TBF event is catastrophic to the point of just parting their car and going elsewhere.

SS was too expensive in tooling to machine.
Looked great but not viable.
I am sticking with steel as aluminium would be too soft in my book.
Would still need inserts and maybe not be able to take the torque.

You are so right and I will state for the record again - the "superclamp" is in my book the ultimate fix.
The PKlamp is an addition to the factory clamp and gives additional insurrance.
Check every year a must.

Mine arrived a few days ago. Nicely done! Much beefier than it appears in the pictures. Putting it in today before my roadtrip to Texas, so this will be a good test to see if it can stop the shaft movement.

Hey, what was the torque supposed to be again? [EDIT: Found it in post 77... 17 ft lbs with blue Loctite. Clamp is on. Ready for roadtrip.]

Lot of the hatch receivers have broken - money refunded of course. Not selling anymore until we sort out the material.
