As per Roger, post #35.

Decided to go with SS as well instead of Zinc plated.

So with opposing bolt heads, is there room to tighten both bolts down without rotating the TT?
Lots. That's where the 'clutch' or some such thing goes.

Kewl!

Is there room there for a KERS unit?
The back seat bottoms and flat hatch floor cry out for couple arrays of Li-Ion rechargeable cells. Weight added lowish and on top of the rear wheels.

You could probably fit a pancake motor/generator in there. Trouble is, the torque converter would soak up most of the deceleration...

A VW doghouse fan just fits in there (AMHIK )...with a little ducting, it could be the poor mans supercharger...

To save people having to go back and re read the thread. The clamp will be balanced in that both sides are equal and a bolt will be fitted to each clamp half.
The original pictures are of prototypes - this means pre production samples for proof of concept.
The production clamp will be exactly the same as Ken's drawing.

Material is being cut today on the first batch.

Word on the F1 sites is that you'll find a few KERS units in Barcelona garbage cans.

With the new clamp balanced do we now need to do likewise to the OEM with only one bolt?

Malcolm:

The stock clamp and flexplate are balanced as a unit. Note the scallops cut into 1 or 2 arms of the flexplate. The clamp and flexplate are sold as a unit. If you unfasten the flexplate from the clamp, it should be marked for orientation so you put it back together the same way.

You would need to spin it way past redline to get any noticable boost and then the spot welded fan would fly apart. Now if you could fab up some sort of a transmission and spin a small, cast impeller, might have something.

Roger,
Please add my name for one of each to your list of those purchasing. THANKS to Rob and Ken and you for a great addition to the "line".
Just send me an invoice via e-mail.

Question, Here is a pic prom Bill's tutorial on checking the end play.

Where is there room to put the extra clamp? Looks different then the pics shown on this thread.

If I understand your question correctly (Canadian is not my first language ):

The PKlamp fits over the larger OD section, behind the original clamp.
