Good thing that piston and rod are there, otherwise that 20 gallon garbage can makes it look like it's 30 feet long.

All we really need is a good Sawzall.....and a welder!

Whole job shouldn't take more than an hour or two.

Well Leeroy was delivered last night and after some further investigation the fire spead further than I had anticipated. To the point that the HVAC box under the dash is melted and the core exposed. On top of that the instruments are filled with fire retardent.
At this point I think it makes more sense to fix my parts car as the only issue is the engine and the interior and paint are in better condition. I'm still in for a resurrection this weekend but I think it needs to be for Leon not Leeroy. I'll leave this decision up to Lisa. No matter what happens I want to thank everyone who has offered to help. What a great bunch of people.

I think your making a good call here Mark, driving a car that has caught fire will always have some kind of burned smell to it.
I hope that your all can get something put together, Good Luck

Bummer! Maybe Rob should go back to his original plan. We all had committed to his project some time ago. Please post your decision Lisa.

The 82 has an intact core. But your point is well-valid.

What does the parts car engine need? Or does it need, an engine?

I'm told the engine is siezed but I have plenty of those around. The car has a near perfect leather dash and a pod with no cracks.

Is Leeroy's engine worth transplanting into it?
