Tires are free! Just ask me how. 305s on all 4 corners or 275s up front. All very sticky so you can break those CV joints drag racing!

Not sure who will win, although I'd put money on the motor for 1st gear, even with my 2.2 rear end.

Tires cost... how much?

Not going to be much fun unless you got a lot of room!
2nd to 80mph in a 2.2
3rd to 118
and 4th to 154.

Even mine only takes a scant 4.5 seconds to go from 60 to 100. 9seconds if you extend it to 120mph.

1st gear will be an excerise in backpedaling....even with the 2.20....2nd is a tad better...until about 70mph then I'll guess you can plant it.....3rd will be the FUN gear...since you can floor it....and should be good for about 140mph.....

Ah, but with the 2.20 I can roar through my favorite twisty road in hope ranch purely in 2nd gear (my peak velocity is around 70-80 there).

I suspect a 2.54 or higher final would just add wheelspin in 1st.

you get wheel spin in a stock S4 with 305s on the back in 1st. The real fun is accerating hard when they are hooked up and that just gets better with the stroker at the top of 2nd, and 3rd! I have 400ft-lbs of torque at the exit of turn 11 in 2nd and with sticky rubber , there is no slip passed 50mph!

With the stock 5.0L in the widow I could spin the RA1 335's with EASE in 1st gear....downright scary really....with only 269 ftlbs to the ground?...granted they were pretty well heat cycled to death but anything more than 1/2 throttle was worthless.....but fun

The R888's are MUCH better.....but I kinda miss the brutality of 1st gear I had before....then again I haven't found myself going BACKWARDS into the dirt with the R888's like I did with the RA1's

Yes, a clutch allows one to spin almost anything...all you need to do is rev it up and release the clutch. An automatic is a tougher bird....unless you are into "nuetral drops".

NND - no-neutral-drops

(not to be confused with NaughtyNakedDreamgirls, which is an entirely different subject)

But when a clutch is done right, it is better than a powerglide and a trans brake.

no clutch, just rolling 25mph accelerations to really get the feel of where the traction is lost with 300rwhp. it happens right near max torque and will spin the tires pretty violently. sure, a turn or a clutch drop and Ill spin tires in 3rd at 100mph.

For reference, a Lingenfelter Corvette twin turbo does 100-150 in 5 seconds. That's fast...

Twin Turbos. Hmmm. I wonder what the throttle response is on those.
