More nice bikes, very cool.

I was just reading an article on the older Moto Guzzi V50 and was thinking about looking around for one. I've always liked the older Guzzis. Older Lemans would be fun too.

Riding a '02 YZ250 right now, big fun.

Sold both bikes about 1 1/2 years ago.
They were Suzuki 4 cylinder 2 stroke bikes
1984 RG400
1985 RG500
Ran the RG500
for 500cc's it ran good in the 1/8mile 7.63seconds which for a 20+year old bike was fast in it days
and about the same as the stock mid 2005 600cc sport bikes.
Hanging on to a 2stroke bike running 7.60's in the 1/8 is probably way more wild of a feeling than a supercharged 928.If I keep the 928 longer maybe will find that out someday if I update it.
The hard decision will be update to a supercharged 928 or 911tt with all the new products coming out on the 928
makes it even harder to decide.
The RG500 was alittle under 100hp and 343lbs dry 406lbs wet.
around 50hp at 7500rpm then almost 50hp comes in between 7000-9500rpm theres nothing like that 2stroke punch.
Last time I ran the bike was back in 2004/2005
Everything I own always makes a trip to the drag races

Yeah, I will play too.

Here is my HD Fat Boy, 2001 model. I had a Yamaha V-Max for many years and I decided I was too old and bought the Harley new back in '01. I'm not feeling it though to be honest, just don't think I'm a Harley type of guy. I am thinking about selling it and getting a Ducati 696.

Broke my back racing the KX125 (it was actually during practice on some trails, but I was actively racing and preping for a multi race series in central TX at the time) 19+ years ago... LOVED my Hurricane 600...AWESOME...miss it! The trail bike was laid back and really old school.

The V-Max runs great in the 1/4 maybe high 10's stock?
The 2strokes were hard on the back coming off wheelies and hard to keep the front end down didn't want to push my luck anymore on those and sold them but miss the acceleration rush.

Yes, that bike was scary quick. I bought leathers intending to take it to the local drag strip but I never worked up the nerve to make a full pass with it so I don't know for sure, but the magazines etc do show it in the 10s....

Horribly uncomfortable to ride for any distance though, a very upright and stiff riding position, and hard seats...

Also lousy range, 100 miles tops. Though that could be a good thing since it gave an excuse to get off of the bike often.

Wish I had it back though, the "hog" just isn't me.

Always wanted to race bikes at the drags instead of cars I was the same never the nerve to go but finally went 20years later when I hit 45 its never to late to go.
The Ducati sounds like it will be more fun of a ride.
Some guys at the shop talked of V-Max with aftermarket parts and a slick even going into the 9's they are very fast for a big bike.

James is that a Honda XL?Looks like 4 stroke motor.
I had a nice SL350 1970 show bike.
Started with new frame powder coated and went thru the bike completely.
My old Yamaha 175 trials bike was in the background.
Always worked on motorcycles just not much on the 928 which I should get more involved in than I do.
Top picture is just the frame of the 1970 SL350 and below after it was done.
