Damn Dwayne!!! Someone go over to Dwaynes and sabotage his blower motor so we can get a step by step R&R on that. I LOVE these step by step pics!!!!

Many thanks Dwayne..I've said it before but with write ups like these anyone with the time can do this now.

Fantastic how-to as ever Dwayne, thanks. I had a leaking central comb actuator on my last 928 and just plugged it rather than try keyhole surgery as the available write-ups were excellent but not quite as detailed as yours. If I'd read your account then I would have gone in and fixed the comb valve. I did have to fix the more accessible footwell actuator and did it same way as you - just replacing the 'bladder' and bending the arm to remove it.

When I did this work (on an '88 like yours) I followed procedure to remove centre console which involved removing the transmission indicator plate and operating a couple of locks under the selector plate to allow the plate to be lifted off.

But reading your account you just left the plate on and lifted the console straight over the stick without problems. I was mainly using the Pirtle write-up and the WSM so I'm puzzled why they would be different on this point? I remember that at first the locking pins under the selector plate confused me till I understoof how they worked, so would be easier to have done it your way.

Your step by step pictures are fun to see ffor sure Dwayne, but I cannot physically imagine how long it takes you to get through one of these projects.

I always dive in and then realise I have finished and have no pictures.

Haven't seen any recent write-ups by Dwayne, so is he busy with some new time consuming work?

Hi Robert,
It has been a while since I've posted a write up - I have been delayed due to work getting in the way. I've been travelling quite a bit (about 50% of the time). I've also been busy buying another 928 and bringing it home (just finished that job). My next big job is to rebuild the torque tube on 'Virginia' using Constantine's super bearings and install his super clamp - I plan to document that with pictures as well. I hope to get to that this summer. I'm really looking forward to this torque tube job since it involves removing the rear axle and transmission - something I know nothing about, not YET anyway!. Thanks for asking!

Dwayne,

I've got some TT noise from my new 89'.... Looking forward to your writeup. I wish I had the patience to take more photos. I get going, and think "I should stop, clean up and take some photos..." then I say "Naaaa! If I hurry up and finish this, I can go for a drive!" I really need to work on this....

Thank You so much for your ability to put these proceedures into an easy to follow package. You have a gift.... Still waiting to see who is going to publish your book....
