Not to hijack Keith's thread, but this is interesting. I've been trying to diagnose an EZK fault reported as the temp II sensor. I tested the resistance reported at the EZK plug pin and it is spot on. The car starts just fine, BUT the diagnostic tool reports -35F, just as you mentioned. THEN it gradually climbs up into the normal range. So, it sounds like -35F is a fault condition, as if the sensor is disconnected, but then it gradually normalizes. Baffling. New sensor. Wire tests good for continuity, but the initial temperature reading is bonkers.

Oh, well, back to Keith's issue. Mine is just a nuisance fault reading that doesn't seem to matter.

+1 on Tony's TempII suggestion. My car would not start with a bad TempII when it was cold. When I removed the fuel pump fuse and cranked for 10 seconds or so, the car would start and actually run for like 10 seconds with no fuel pump. That's how flooded it was.

EDIT: And holy crap, this thread has over 1,700 views in just 4 days!

Interesting about the temp II sensor. I cleaned the engine on the GTS a year or two back and shorted out the sensor. Car wouldn't start. Got a new sensor and it fired back up. I thought about this the other day, but forgot to check it. I guess since it's only a year or so old, it slipped my mind. I think you can just connect the two leads together to by pass the sensor and see if it fires up.

With a title like..." GTS died " you get a LOT of LOOKS !! sharks smell blood in the water from a great distance Had it been " GTS won't start " .... far fewer hits.

If you title threads properly, you get the responses quickly when you need help.

Yes but all the PMs / e-mails from people wanting to buy wheels , body parts and engine can be distracting..... Some thought , OH NO he crashed the GTS ! others were thinking , OH BOY he crashed the GTS . So the fuel pump was bad and NOW something else ? You should probably just part it out !

I tracked down Keith's previous post on the plug he used to eliminate pinging on his GTS:

Bosch "Super" R6 385

Is this the same as your recommendation, Ken?

Keith-

It's got to be a relay. You know you have fuel pressure... but we don't know of the injectors are firing. Do we know if you have spark?

We worked on a 91S4 here in the Detroit area that would sometimes start, but generally would not run. After a long and very painful search we found the kickdown relay (of all things) was the culprit. It would cut off the injectors (upon cranking) and would not start.
