You might be underselling your project, a bit. How about 10K and the '85?

Stay away from the 85. Friends don't let friends drive automatics. At least until their ready for a knee replacement.

If you're seriously thinking about doing that trade, you might want to consider posting to this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...anonymous.html

Your 82 looks awesome. I agree with Ryan; if you want to have something to play with, rip the engine out and put a bigger/more bad *** one in its place.

I got spoiled on my 86 S/C this car has a different feel. The power is not only the difference, can't put my finger on it just feels different.
If I just sell it for what has been offered I still will have money left over for another project. Understand I have gone completely through that car. Everything is replaced or fixed and it looks very sharp. "But", I don't think putting anymore money in it by playing with motors makes sense. Since it's not a true Gts, spending that amount of money on an 82 would not be an good investment. I have a few more things to finish up on, this will give me time to let me think about what to do. I could sell the Vett, but now is not a good time and do not want to give it away.

putting what you need to into a beat up euro 85 WITH AN AUTO aint a sound investment either!

so thow out the sound investment idea lol

From what i can tell, that 82 at least looks really nice! I agree its not really worth much but neither will that 85 euro.

I guess I need group support to sell it, I can't come up with enough reasons. Do I really need five cars, did I get bonded with the 82 and will feel bad selling it.
I could use the money but am not in dire straights that I need to sell it. Thanks to all the harassment, mental health comments and medical diagnoses I decided not to trade for the 85. I can tell you I did not bond with the Euro while rebuilding it for my friend. But It does run good, looks like crap, and like the 82 everything has been replaced or fixed.

Mark, if you do that crazy trade, you'll be so busy with the Euro there's no way you'll be able to free up enough time to make it to the Shark Shiver in Sebring in 5 weeks. Hey, if you wanna prevent withdrawals from your addiction of needing to work on 928s, we'll start the Shiver a day or two early & set up some special tech sessions, I'm sure they'll be enough volunteers with their sharks that need work! And I'll be 1st in line!

Mark, If you are unsure if you will miss the 82 I can come "borrow" it for a week or two to see how you feel.

I've seen some pretty nice pre 1985 928s "euros" on ebay and I can't remember when 1 sold for more than 6k(with an auto trans) I have been watching for almost a year and I still haven't seen a grey market 928s with a 5speed on ebay????????? If his euro had a 5 speed and a m28/11 engine............

Keep your 82/GTS hybrid and tell your buddy to push that 85 Euro off a cliff before it kills again.

Yeah, keep the '82. I know you were saying in another thread that it didn't have enough juice... put some early cams in it and if that doesn't wake it up enough, throw an SC at it.
