shouldn't this engine get more power? powerhaus' 944s2 turbo engines get this kind of power, so do vitesse kits...

Does anyone know if I can retrofit 1995 GTS fuses into my 81? I also noticed that my license plate screws are flat heads. I'm not sure if these are OEM or from the last owner. From what I understand the 1995 GTS uses an allen head screws. Does anyone have any pictures of this? I would really like to upgrade to the newer style they are just so much better looking.

I would get the ones made of magnesium. They are 0.0001lbs lighter!

A 928 running the same boost as a 944 would make close to twice the power.

Lots of work to do that. Lower compression, program timing etc.. Couple Turbo 928's running 4-7psi, one or two much more with heavy mods.

Remember the 944 kits over 350RWHP usualy require oringing the block, firewire head gaskets etc.. Plus meth injection or serious retard.

Put Euro cams and heads on your US to get 285ish at the crank, but lots of torque across the whoel rpm range, something your 944 won't do with a turbo.

The SC guys are hitting mid 500's rear wheel with low PSI numbers as well. Lot's more reliability than a 944 on heavy boost. Anyone can make HP with boost, but can you make it last longer than a week?

There are several Ricers near me with crazy HP numbers from Turbo Hondas and 240's.. but they all have the infamous "50/50" mod.. they only run 50% of the time. A 928 with mild boost will last a couple hundred thousand miles.

Last I heard "the" twin-turbo 928 was at ~560hp to the wheels with no engine mods at all.

Haha, that's a definite NOPE! I only mentioned that since there was some comparison going on between power mods to a 944 and a 928.

Yeah, it's true. There is no reason why an early 928 can't make the same amount of power with similar mods. I guess it just hasn't been done yet. What is the most highly modified 4.5 liter putting out currently?

Hey Jim,
I will get those washers. I'm also working on creating a paper mache intake cover that will slide over the stock 16V spider. The cover will look exactly like a 1995 GTS.

all this talk of washers and bolts for license plates is confusing, what is the latest type of license plate bolts used on the 1995 928 GTS?
