Any updates on the car? I know you were shooting for the spring race, just need a fix since the fall race is right around the corner. FWIW we're headed to the CMP race this weekend, the flyin' CRX is running great. With as good as my car is running (knock on wood) I'll be driving it to the track so anyone who wants to spectate, come on by.

[edit] can't resist a pic of the Monty Python's Flying CRX mid-design. Woodgrain paneling has that sophisticated look, sunburst will be going on the hood and Tim is in the background working on the trojan rabbit. Extra thanks to the beautiful assistant too.

A couple of weeks ago the 24 Hours Of Lemons ran at Nelson Ledges. There were two of our Porsche brethren running 944's. One was too nice and ended up getting the peoples curse. Unfairly I think. From the montrous thread about the killing of the 944 that is going on over at www.24hoursoflemons.com it appears that most people didn't vote at all and that just a handfull of votes for the 944 was enough to make them the recipient of the curse.

Anyway, I was looking through some of the pictures from the race and I came across this trophy for "most heroic fix". Pretty cool IMHO.

There's a new series to address the shortcomings of Lemons. Theres no peoples curse and the claim amount is raised from $500 to $1500. They also auction off any claimed cars and you will be allowed to bid on your own car. Any proceeds are donated to a local charity. Its called Chump Car. www.chumpcar.com They are going to run two events in FL next year. I'm talking to Crazy Mike about doing that one but nothing has been decided yet.

My advise make it look as ugly as possible otherwise I think you might face the same demise as the dragon crew (944).

I looked at chumpcar but I've run in 3 LeMons races now and had a blast every time, not interested in switching. Jay has earned my loyalty by putting on a great event. Very well run, lots of fun, and you go in knowing your car could be crushed at the whim of the mob. It's part of the deal. Actually the green dragon guys got off very lucky. They can install a new engine, ugly it up, and run the next one. The ones crushed at the last CMP race ended up in a very tiny ball. Funny as hell when all the beer cans fell out!

Default HOUSTON - WE HAVE LeMons....

Anyone headed to the 'Yee-Haw' in Angleton, TX - Houston MSR this weekend, Oct 24-25th?

A friend is racing and I hope to attend, schedule permitting.
PM me if you plan to go.

Next year's schedule has some new venues -- looks like more fun on the horizon!

We don't need no stinking oil pressure gauge.....plus if we did have to replace it...that would blow the budget!!
