Default 24 hr of lemons

It's been brought up... A 928 in the Lemons!

<<<<<<<<< She could do it!

http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/rules/

I gave $300 for the old '78 Euro auto - I can sell the headlights, the pod, and a few other parts, (very few cause I can't think of ANYTHING else worth money on the car that isn't in my parts bins.) and think this might be a fun venture.
As much as I would hate to see the old Euro destroyed - I'd love even more to see her win!

The car would need some old race seats and harness, drivers, suits, a ratty roll cage, probably the Fabio "camo" spray paint he wanted to do, and whatever.

I'm watching the schedule

http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/

The car is in Florida and I would love to figure out a way to tow a trailer with spare tires and rims

Any thoughts are welcome... Don't bother with the "your nut's dude" I already know that!

Jim,
Do you think a old Euro 3 spd would hold up for this?

Probably would how many miles do they cover in one of these ? The Altimont one is pretty slow from what I read.

I also like this idea!!!! The race shop where I keep my track 928 does Lemons every year, with an old volvo..but the owner told me he REALLY wants to race a 928.....he thought an automatic OB like yours would be perfect....

Being a race shop, there are lots of old race seats and more lying around.....I have two top of the line seats in my track shark and I would loan 1 for a lemons 928....

The bummer is you are in Florida and were in CA.....

BUT with some "help" from local 928ers and maybe Jim-Mark I think we could make this happen.....

There is a chance you may not come home with a car. It could get chosen as peoples choice and be crushed. Plan to trailer any car to these races.

Yep - this thought keeps getting pounded in my head from others too

But what a way to go

Sure would give HWFM racing a new meaning

I think one way to assure the car doesn't get crushed is to not make it too pretty...yes I know its hard to make a 928 ugly...but out of the 50 or so cars out there, only 1 gets crushed...& thats at the 1/2 way point.....so you only have a 2% chance

BTW - if you can help with the asst box of left over nuts and bolts I'll have left over from the main bearing replacement
Or should I just chuck em and call it weight reduction...

Ahem..... What are the chances of DR "lending" a twin screw

Seriously,
Thank you Wally!
You are always above and beyond the call Sir, it would be an honor!
