David,
Your shop looks AWESOME! Hopefully, I'll be right behind you! Looks like your shop is a great configuration with plenty of room. I like the rectangular metal building option best, like yours, but I'm also looking at other options such as stick frame or quonset. Did you do most of the construction yourself or contract it out?? THANKS for the post!

Dwayne...........look into rectangular Quonset packages where the posts are wood as is all the other interior structure but the exterior is metal. You end up with a great wide open building where you can then design your 'shop' anyway you want.
In our case we now use the garage as a parking spot for our vehicles to keep them out the weather and the shop for maintenance/repairs and long (winter) storage.

Here's an update fellas.
My shop is basically done, except for three steel pedestals I'm having welded up for my drill press, bench grinder, and bench vise. I'll bolt them to the floor against the far wall. I'm also need to paint the floor and put in some shelves.
My lift is able to pick up my 928 after I drive it up on 2x6's and roll it back and forth to get the arms underneath. No more laying on my back and getting a mouth and eye full of crap (now I can at least stand up and get all that!!).
My cabinets turned out very nice. I went with oak instead of the cheaper maple. Doing them myself saved a lot of money, and having a buddy with a cabinet shop helps too.
I'm still planning on running some hard lines from the air compressor to the lift, counter top, and parts washer etc. I'll install a 4-post storage lift later to keep my 928 away from my kids, and give me space for one more car too.

Wow, very nice Dave. Now you just need to add a few more 928's in there to fill the space.
Oh and don't forget the fridge.

Afshin,
The beer frig search is in progress. Not just any frig will do. I've been to Lowe's and Home Depot, but they just don't have the right one. I will probably have to find one on CL. It must be able to maintain 34* F top to bottom and must have stainless shelves. I prefer ice slivers in my beer, but not too much. The exterior finish is not important, as a book can not be judged by it's cover. The frig must care for the beer it carries, much like an expecting mother.
Sterling,
The taller garage door is for a future boat purchase. I will be looking for a deep-V 23-footer with a center concole and large t-top with at least a 300hp 4-stroke.
