Whys is everyone always all over the place on this kind of question?
1. Do you have spark?
2. Do you have fuel pressure?
Check these two things and advise please

As suggested, check the injection relay. Take the aluminium cover off the relay and squeez the contact together with your fingers. If it fires up, let it go, if then stalls, you know what the problems is. Be careful, not all relays are the same. They might look the same but internally they are different. I had this same issue with my '83.

Well spent a good part of the day trying to trouble shoot the no start....Still no start....Tank full, New Battery, Switched out bad fuel pump relay...pump now humming along...Injector relayI pulled hoping to switch out...but had no spare like I thought to test with....Was sure I had one in my box of relays but was mistaken...So until I get a spare I'm dead in the water....Car turns over almost sputters to catch but as soon as the key returns to run it dies...Ignition switch is new to from Rodger@928RUS so I have ruled that out. I was searching for any signs of fried wires or wire...since when this first refused to catch there was a slight smell in the engine bay. But was unsure if it was from the multiple tries at getting it started. But couldn't find any obvious signs of anything cooked. Thanks for all the input....it is greatly appreciated...No other 928 guru's this far north....but I'll keep plugging at it with all the help from here. Tomorrows another day!

Well, It's been about 10 days since it was out on the road. While working on it this summer, I have made sure to fire it up and take it for a 1/2-1hr run every 15-20 days. Redid the calipers, Switched out the Steering wheel with a Momo & Momo hub...I did little Body work, and Reinstalling the interior from behind the fronts seats to the trunk. And getting ready to install some new speakers in the newer door panels....etc etc...Like I was saying rehabing what the PO had done and not done to it.....But it has always fired up even after 20 days..it might take a couple cranks for it to fire..but always does...or should I say did..

did you remove any ground wires in the trunk/hatch area?? There is a ground in the harness for the neutral safety switch, IIRC there must be a ground to the fuel pump with the shifter in park or neutral so try checking for a ground on pin 85 of the fuel pump relay. Pin 86 should have 12v in the start mode

I have pulled that relay...but I haven't removed the aluminum cover yet....today is a work day for me..so probably won't get to that until tonite or in the next day or two when I have more time to pick up some new relays to exchange. Thanks for the tip!

People fear what they don't know. In reality, starter fluid is a cheap, easy, harmless way to identify if you have a fuel or spark issue...the first step in debugging.
Your post, by the way, acted as though no one was suggesting debugging. And most weren't. Most of the posts were unclever "throw new parts at the problem" sorts of comments. Most posts; not all.
It's only when you discovered that you had painted with too large a brush regarding debugging versus throwing new parts at the problem that you decided to move the goalposts...suddenly the issue was potential harm in a test (an erroneous view, as well).
Read the warning label on your $2 can of starter fluid. It's not going to blow up your engine or intake. It's actually quite harmless.
Spray it into your intake. Does the car start with the spray? If yes, then you have just ruled out a "no spark" condition. Very useful for debugging, as well as quick, cheap, and easy.
Steering people away from starter fluid with FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) does a disservice to home wrenchers. Don't go there.

When I got home I tried turning it over again....Fuel pump working.....but it seems like maybe the injector relay may not be working as there is no fuel smell. If the injectors were Working but no spark wouldn't I smell fuel? Just wondering....Pull coil wire off...it has spark...

Can you check the fuel pressure?
