Randy said he went by him like he was standing still in the 500hp camaro!!

So he wants to go from finishing (and winning) two thirds of the races to maybe 1/2.....that ends up being LOWER points for the year...... 250hp/L is seriously pushing it!!!! Hmm a 6.5L engine pushed that hard would be............................................................1625HP

So you have to ask yourself....how long would that engine last? Answer...NOT LONG

so, now i might invest in that last dyno run session to squeeze out the extra hp that the stock top end the stroker might make.

In the end, all it takes is one DNF and a little problem during the year to crush championship hopes. I'm in it for fun next season. Ill do most of the races, especially if Rylan blows. Otherwise, he can buy the championship and Ill do things like race at Calspeedway and run some NASA, NCRC, and PRC events.

I think with my $50 brake modification, my car should be a little faster this year. dont know if the big tires up front will help much, but Illl run a few races to get a good comparison going.

Great attitude Mark. The fun tends to go away when it just becomes a $$$ race.

Bottom line is they created SO many "spec" series to slow down the "wallet wars"

spec series are nice, but boring. I was trying to help make something that i believe in strongly. A racing series, based on production cars of all makes and models that run together regulated by DOT tires and easy to regulate performance mods. (ie hp/weight ratios, like the GTS series, but all comers!)

unfortunately, the 5-6 front runners, where anyone can own the lead, is going the way of the other unlimited series. The most money wins. I still think that It might be ok, as long as we limit the series to production cars with stock production transmissions. (this eliminates the race engines that can blow up stock gear boxes)

Anyway, hp to weight is part of it, but the production and limits to certain mods will continue to make ITE a great series. This season will be interesting. Lots of guys are tee'd up to come out and wax the field. Lets see what happens!

Mark, a supercharger kit is not *that* expensive. You could get an easy 550rwhp if you put one on that stroker

Along with a new clutch, new transmission every 5 races, etc, etc!

That bad? Doesn't Mark A. have close to 500rwhp these days? I wonder what his clutch/tranny maintenance schedule is like.

3-4 transmissions (parts that broke that equal transmission replacement and some have been GTS transmissions) running about half the track days I have in the last 4 years.
New clutch system, as Joe shreaded a stock linner'ed clutch sytem with the enhanced pressure plate.

now that he has the new clutch system, and possibly is being careful with the transmission, he is pretty good to go, besides stripping out 3rd gear 2 seasons ago.

Default Joke on the other SCCA ITE boards

Those guys were pulling my leg. His car has gone through less mods than me over the winter time (so far). My $50 brake upgrade is outpacing his projects. So, we should all be pretty close to the same next season!

Should be interesting, especially with many of the newcomers planning on showing up! (LS1 powered S2000, 700hp 350Z, etc)

Last season, Darrel said he was coming back. He said a few ITE races, but was also thinking about going GT1. If i have my way, no hollinger crash boxes will be allowed. I think that is one way to keep the series fairly production based, rather than any production tub on dots that could really run a nascar motor like the mustang and a race trannie to match. Im sure he would be reluctant to run that motor with a standard mustang trannie. It might be a solution to keep the series in somewhat of a production relm. (no race transmissions, sequential gear boxes, etc. transmission must come out of a production vehicle of any make or model, like the camaro using the viper transmission is ok in my idea for the rule change.)

MK
So a 928 using a sequential 6 speed out of a GT3 RSR would be okay...since it is a "production car"...bummer its probably $20k

I dont think the production GT3RS has the sequential gear box, so it wouldnt be ok. Remember the entire production car discussion was around the rule that the chassis had to be from the street production line. RSRs are made at the Motorsport facility and dont have VIN numbers.
Wouldnt that be cool to have a sequential gear box on a 928!?

I thought ITE did not allow engines of another make, which would not allow the Chevy powered Honda.
